What's the consensus on flashpoint?
Fun story, awful repercussions.
>>81448362
It directly caused the events that created the new52, right?
I liked it. It had some interesting ideas, like having Atlantis and Themyscira being the top two super powers of the world and Batman being Thomas Wayne. Art was cool. One of the only two events to actually destroy universes for real. Tie-ins were mostly boring or irrelevant.
7/10.
>>81448420
Yep.
>>81448436
>like having Atlantis and Themyscira being the top two super powers of the world
>there will never be Atlantis/Themyscira alliance that oppresses worlds
>>81448330
Flashpoint was really great overall.
Pretty great batman mini as well.
>that martha joker
A fun alternate timeline story that really had no business being a tacked-on universe reboot
I would rather not have Flashpoint exist than have black Wally exist.
The Flashpoint universe was more interesting than the universe that replaced it.
>>81448436
Azzbat wit Risso on art was awesome though.
So Flashpoint 1-5 are the must reads, are there any readworthy tie-ins, or things that lead up to it?
>>81448563
Too dark and gritty. It was like the Millerverse but with less laughs.
I'm tired of grim and dark timelines.
>>81448748
>or things that lead up to it?
Flash rebirth is definitely a must read before reading FLashpoint.
>>81448748
Here's a folder I made up for it in narrative order

>>81448330
It's good, and the movie is good to.
>>81448330
It was a poor's man House of M, it made no sense (alternative timelines don't work in the same way as alternative universe, but Johns forgot about that).
Somehow Barry's mom is the most important person in the universe. People Can't trust Johns after that. It was really fun, casuals love it. It was the start of the push of Cyborg.
It could had been a great Elseworld world if you took the flash stuff out.
>>81448811
>>81448802
You two, thank you!
Everyone else as well. your input is always appreciated, /co/
>>81449273
Watch Flashpoint Paradox when you're done, it's pretty good as well.
>>81449340
Man, I love that Reverse Flash(And captain Boomerang) are just the biggest assholes
>>81448362
>Fun story, awful repercussions.
This, basically. Flashpoint would have been a fun little bit of Elseworlds nonsense, if it had gone back to status quo at the end. Instead it launches the colossal fuckfest of past five years and going.
Can basedstoryteller story time?
>>81449273
Oh, just one note.
the files I gave you are edited to get rid of the reboot ending.
Straight back to status quo, which flows better.
>>81449489
ah okey
>>81449472
In a few.
>>81450262
Awesome!
>>81448330
It's really really bad
It was the worst half reboot since Beast machines.
>>81450262
Nice
>>81448330
The middle is solid.
The beginning and end are tainted by selfish Barry and Barry/Pandora murdering the DCU.
>>81451033
Thanks

Ignoring the retcon
It's a great story, fun, exciting world
Easily one of the best events of the last decade
>>81451394
Just imagine main Batman starting to throw some D-listers off buildings.
Fun story and still one of the better DC movies.

Indeed, it's Blackout. Wonder why they didn't use some more known character.
Also, loving how they in regular comics are "Aquaman is funney XDDD" and here everyone is "oh fuck, Aquaman will gangrape us".
>>81449340
I was pleasantly surprised at how brutal Flashpoint Paradox was at some points.

It was a less good Age of Apocalypse, that ended up nuking the crap out of the entire DC Universe for corporate reasons.
Would not recommend.

>>81452438
No idea, really. One could argue that they had Captain Nazi, but he's usually tied to Captain Marvel. Reich's heroes weren't that strong, desu.

I can't remember, does Subject 3 ever come up again?
>>81453169
I'm assuming Subject 3 was probably Supergirl or some variation upon Bizarro.
>>81448330
It was fun, but only fair to fans if we get a Reverse Flashpoiny that changes more things back than Zero Hour or Infinite Crisis did put together.
It's pretty sad that a fun event like it got tainted by the bullshit movie synergy driven stuff like the New 52's continuity changes.
>>81451227
>Sh-shut up continuityfag!
>>81453230
I figured it would be her.
It was Kal-El, Krypto, then Kara in the rockets.
So were people like the Endless and Lucifer above the whole Flashpoint aftermath?

>>81454132
I much prefer Grifter's death in the animated movie.
>>81451213
It's painful seeing this, and knowing Johns wrote it when he knew none of them would survive this event and the fallout.
>>81453443
Thomas is so damned based. He has a goal and all else is considered a loss.
>>81454515
So remember kids: in the DC Universe, no ones allowed to have a happy ending. Otherwise the world goes to shit.
>>81452438
Johnsis a retard that doenst kno the difference between alternative timeline anwd alternative universe
>>81453407
Anon, do you really need to ask?
>>81454355
And then Barry killed his entire family.
>>81456575
Also, this is Johns so remember that you can only be a hero if someone has made you a victim in the past.
>>81454515
It's a nice way to try to compensate over the fact that Johns believe there's nothing special about bruce wayne and that anyone can be batman
>>81454355
This right here is the death of the DC Universe, if what Johns said about legacy is anything to go by.
