I suspect that Bane really didn't do much to create the Rule of Two since it's very likely the Sith were already well established in a Master/Apprentice dynamic. I obviously have nothing to back this up beyond the, as far as I can tell, still canon backstory that the Sith were formed, in part, by Dark Jedi who had a schism from the main Jedi Order in the far past. The Jedi love the Master/Padawan style of on the job training.
Anyway all Bane did was limit it to one pair, which was easy at that point since everyone else was dead. Just as the Jedi Temple on Lothal wants two to open it and it is most definitely NOT a Sith Temple, it wants a Master and Apprentice present. Even pre-Rule of Two it's most logical for Masters and Apprentices to have more trust in each other (but only a fool would have absolute trust). They relied on each other, at least until one sells out the other. It's more a security feature, it seems.

Most of the time in PT characters simply dont give a shit what happens around them - Jedi dont give a shit about discovering an underwater city, ObiWan is very serene about whole Kamino thing, barely showing any emotions. I suspect this is more a case of bad directing, since they are capable actors, even CHristensen has genuinely good scenes. In TFA they actually care what happens around them.

I don't know if they'll ever get into any more specifics unless they find a reason to introduce that female Sith Lord fully, which wouldn't be hard if she's still in the holocron Ezra is holding. Hard to believe Kanan is letting him keep a dark artifact like that.
Anyway it could still have the same two force user requirement to open the Lothal Temple did and Maul is merely expressing it in the ways he was taught, which heavily reference the Rule of Two. The way they were describing getting into the temple in the Filoni/Witwer interview it requires a degree of trust, which isn't easy for Sith to come by. Definitely sounds like a security feature. If you were the Sith Lord who made that battle station you'd want to make sure you didn't let it get out of your control! Pity that it wasn't a rival (that we know of) but a malfunction that killed everyone in the area.
The number of Sith present in the battle, the scale of it, seems to exclude the Rule of Two as a possibility, however it could be a Master and an Apprentice and a butt load of Dark Side posers, similar to how Vader and Sidious use the Inquisition.
Yeah, definitely hoping they explore this a bit more. Just not sure how much backstory they can cram into an episode with the temple now behind them. Only way I can figure is if the Holocron gives a massive infodump.

Ezra mentions to Sabine he needs power cells for his lightsaber, so they still require batteries. No clue about the old EU wearable power supplies, but obviously energy cells by this time in the Star Wars galaxy are crazy powerful while still being small. Also crazy efficient. In nu canon kybers have been shown to amplify the energy applied to them (presumably via the Force) so they do get a big boost of energy.
Of course Ezra has a gunsaber, but we're told he can't use both functions at the same time due to the powerpack being unable to support both. The Malachor cross saber also cut out, but it was so old running out of power was likely the least of it's issues.
I like the variable power modes idea. It obviously takes less power when they're using it as a flashlight in spider or geonosian filled caverns rather than always using the same intensity, but I'm not sure how the sword can tell when it needs to up the juice to cut through metal or deflect a blaster. The extra power would have to amp up so fast as to be roughly instantaneous.I hope continuing this topic doesn't cause a shitstorm. It was interesting before that one guy spazzed the fuck out and then the whole thing spiraled out of control.

Fun fact that tends to be easily forgotten since we never saw it. According to Stealth Strike Ezra's gunsaber had a kill setting, he just never used anything other than stun. And no surprise, he's a kid. Even when he deflected a stormtrooper's blaster bolt and knocked him down he told the guy, "See? Didn't hurt" (or words to that effect).

Nah, that would be Maul. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an episode about potential rebel sympathizers being turned away from their cause thanks to Maul and some new allies of his using terroristic acts and not giving a damn about civilian casualties in order to weaken the Empire.
If anything is going to push Ezra away from the Ghost crew and towards the Dark Side, it is going to be something similar to the fears we saw when he was getting his crystal for his light saber; he's terrified of the idea that his new family doesn't genuinely care about him and is willing to abandon him. Ezra was only willing to trust Maul after finding out that he'd also lost loved ones to the Empire, and he only started to tap into the Dark Side when he prodded him about needing to be less merciful in order to protect his friends. There's no doubt in my mind that Maul was planning on blaming Kanan and Ahsoka's deaths on the Inquisitors for the same reason.
Imagine if something went wrong and Ezra was convinced the Ghost crew abandoned/betrayed him? That would be the PERFECT moment for Maul to jump in and snatch him up.

Imagine if Ezra is cornered when his allies are forced to retreat? Imagine if a bad misunderstanding (or maybe even sabotage on Maul's part), coupled with Ezra's dark side tendencies, convinces the crew that he can't be trusted? What if Ezra is captured by the enemy and the crew can't immediately drop everything for a rescue mission?
All of these would be prime moments for Maul to jump in and convince him that the crew of the Ghost didn't really care about him, and to get Ezra to join him.
