Anyway is it odd that I have high hopes for Strange and SS because DP was so good even though there's nothing really connecting the three films? I just want more good capeshit.
Obviously the biggest shit-storm would be if were a HUGE failure. It'd be full on console wars at that point. But it would be a pretty big shitstorm if it were a huge critical success, too. All the contrarians popping out of the woodwork wage petty slings and arrows against a good movie. Would be entertaining.
The smallest shit-storm (and what probable will happen) is if it's a financial success and gets generally positive, but unimpressive reviews.

Civil War won't fail as it already has an established fanbase and has more room to make mistakes, while with BvS everyone was ready to hate it because of Snyder and a lot of people had a fixed idea who the characters should be like, not only comic fags but also middle aged critics who loved Donners superman and Burtons batman(Nolans Batman for younger people), any deviation from this idea would of course make people mad. Not disregarding the pacing issues BvS movie had though.
Marvel doesn't have this problem as the actors are literally the characters in peoples mind and as long as people see their favorite character/actors in their movies, they don't mind it not being that good, as seen with age of ultron and CW is only about the most favorite characters in the MCU.
we DC-fags already admited defeat, no matter if we liked the movie or not, we know even the sales aren't looking that good, the only thing we can do is just wait how the next movies will turn out and what decisions WB will make regarding the overall tone of the DCEU.

It won't fail. It might underperform relative to expectations leading to cries of "Marvel is DOOOMED!", and it will probably underperform relative to artistic expectations which are sky-high.

It's impossible for Marvel movies to fail now. They're made by the same committee that pumped out all the other 22 movies. There are no directors, no screenwriters, only the producers determine what happens next. Plus, the audience and critics are too invested in these characters - after 8 years of movies - to objectively analyze them.
These movies will only start to drop in popularity if they try to change Robert Downey Jr, which is bound to happen after Infinity War part 2.

I recently rewatched DoFP and its very overrated looking back on it, it continues to share alot of the same problems as the older ones like not being to star any other character but Wolverine, Magneto and Xavier, Jlaws acting was so bland and the sentinels were very underused. i believe looked up to it so much was because it was the first good thing to come out of the series since X2. but when all that wears of its nothing special
