SWatch S2, then the Ogrest OVA and finish with the three "Eliatrope's Dofus Quest" OVAs.
Dofus is an comfy "adventure of the day" show with characters that can be important in the Dofus/Wakfu lore. Give it a shot before the 3 final OVAs !

The OVAs are set after the second season and they spoil an awful lot about it (obviously) so watch S2 first.
Dofus is better than S2 so give that a whirl once you're all done and dusted.

Do not listen to haters S2 is good.
The issue is that you gotta accept Nox will forever be the best villain as no other really tops him. A lot of people went in with a bar way too high and thats why they go as if the season was the worst ever.
There are still a lot of cool moments in S2 and beyond so just keep a steady expectation and you'll be fine.
I would say don't watch the Ogrest OVA, but it's kind of important.
