Hey there /co/, can someone tell me some good lighthearted, fun or even inspirational Superman story? You see, I'm fucking tired of this evil, raging, killing machine Superman that I've seen lately. I just want the good ol' Superman to breath a little, I don't even care if it's cheesy
The digital first Superman series, I don't remember the proper name right now but just to tell you it was majestic, truly destilled all good is Supes.

Adventures of Superman (2013 to 2014) was pretty good but it also had some not so great pieces. In generally, almost all of them are inspirational Superman stories and a good 2/3rds are definitely in the fun/light vein.

The old Fleischer shorts would probably be good for that.
Secret Identity
>The story describes the life of Clark Kent, a man in a world in which superheroes exist only as characters in comics, who suddenly gains the powers of Superman and embarks on a super-heroic career, but keeps his existence secret from the world at large.

You want Superman For All Seasons.
Action Comics #800 is a favorite of mine. One of the best single-issue Superman stories ever made.

And I'm tired of this meme.
Up, Up and Away! is a great story.
If you can handle his crazy-ass fifth dimensional writing, Grant Morrison's New 52 Action Comics run was pretty great.

Power of Hope
Captain Marvel is a better Superman than Superman.

This is a good one, but I wouldn't go so far to call it light hearted.
My favorite funny supes story is the Superman-Batman Annual #1 from 2006.

Better yet, why not both? Superman/Shazam First Thunder is a solid read. (I also really like the art)

THIS, made me tear up, so truthful and beautiful.

So disappointed when there was no scene of Clark talking to Billy all night until he falls asleep and Clark taking him home. It was perfectly set up for it.

It's not particularly lighthearted or fun. But if you've never read it, you really owe it to yourself to do so.

Whole run from Busiek/Johns is fucking amazing.
