as villains for the part focusing on the Midnight crew, they were fine, we got a summary of their abilities and saw them being used, while getting some comic relief, but now not only are they mostly irrelevant compared to the other events taking place, they're also too many and with way too many different abilities to be featured fully and in relevant fashion in the flash. making them have a fight now only hurts them because they're pretty much only there so Jake can have something to do.
i'd honestly rather have Jake play some minor role in another fight than have a portion of the flash dedicated to him fooling around with the felt.
