It's a complicated issue isn't it, in theory an ideal scenario would be that everyone has agency over their own life. But obviously children aren't exactly mentally equipped or experienced enough to make serious decisions so we leave it up to their parents. But then we have these situations that pretty much establishes an individual's personality for a long time coming where even a reasonable parent could easily miss the mark considering it's uncharted territory.
On the other hand having to pass an arbitrarily set age before you can have your family consider you a lady or a dude when your biologically the opposite has it's own issues.
All of this without even going into the debate of whether transexuality is "legitimate" or not. It's certainly going to be a heated topic for some time to come.

Since I was little I thought I was meant to be a boy, to the point of coming to the conclusion that I was castrated at birth. When puberty rolled around I was bitterly disappointed.

Usually those "calculations" are the probablility of a given evolutionary sequence of events to happen. It's a really unconvincing argument because it isn't "the chance that evolution is how the earth was created" but "this is the chance of evolution happening". Since clearly something happened and we can show a possibility of evolution but not a possibility of creationism then evolution is clearly the more reasonable belief.
