Why doesn't Punisher do something useful and go after white-collar crime?

Im sure the chucklefucks who tanked the economy in 08 have hurt way more people than a random crime family.
>>
DC is owned by Warner Bros, a massive media company. Marvel is owned by Disney, a massive media company.

You will never ever see any superhero go after white collar crime.
>>
>>81319595
Batman Beyond?
>>
>>81319545

He sometimes does.

One of his earliest stories involved insider trading.

There's also that MAX arc that introduced Barracuda (pic related).
>>
>>81319545
That's too complicated for Frank. He does what he does largely because it's so simple and familiar.
>>
>>81319595
Gail Simone wrote a book in dc mainstream continuity during the one percent 99 percent Wall Street protests. It was very very pro down trodden and down with the corporate elite.
>>
>>81319706
im gonna have to read this. thanks man/

>the ruling elite get Franked
The "Punisher: The End" one-shot has some as well.
>>
Why does the Punisher never explore the complex nature of crime instead of shooting everything in sight?
>>
>>81319545
What run is this from?
>>
White-collar criminals aren't the ones that killed his family. Besides, if he starts going after white-collar crime on the same scale he tackles street crime, street crime is eventually going to dry up, and that would take away the only outlet he has for whatever it is that drives him to do what he does.

In a way, Frank's not really that different from big corporations- he can't REALLY get out there and cure the disease, because if he did, he couldn't personally profit from treating the symptoms anymore.

Interesting. would Punisher Frank someone for wearing clothes produced by child slave-labor?
>>
>>81319915

Greg Rucka's.

>>81319769

The first story mentioned is The Punisher Vol. 2, #8-9

The second (which that pic is from) is The Punisher (MAX version) #31-36.

>>81319862

Oh yeah, that too.

>This was consider hardcore in the 80's
>>
The real villain of the last series turned out to be a corrupt US secretary who was secretly funding gangs and cartels so that they could commit terroristic attacks that would somehow lead to an increase in his wealth, power, and standing.

Frank beats him nearly to death with a golf club (in a veteran's cemetery, because symbolism) before handing him and his confession off to Captain America (because killing him would cause too many problems that he currently didn't have time to deal with).
>>
>>81319545
because the evil businessman trope was over used to hell and back in the 80s and 90s
>>
>>81319706
The closest I'll get to a Travis McGee comic book adaptation. Barracuda had almost everything you'd expect from a McGee story.
>>
>>81320034

For a mainstream book, anyway.

It was Frank's first solo series, and a while before he became 99% dead inside.
>>
>>81319744
Did it address anything or anyone specific, or was it just carry kind of a vague populism against shadowy corporations?
>>
So I think this thread could be interesting but since /co/ can't handle that and it'll turn /pol/ real goddamn fast, I'd go ahead and report it if I were you guys.
>>
He does, but as a great man once said "A man's gotta know his limitations." Also weren't the generals in Max a stand in for the whole military industry complex?
>>
>>81319898
Because Frank is a violent revenge fantasy and not an actual hero.

I still like the Punisher, but he only works if he's Franking unrepentant scum.

Why does Frank love Cap so much?
>>
>>81323940
because Cap is his hero

a guy that does what he does but way better
>>
>>81323940
Also, doesnt anyone loves Cap?
Literally the american hero.

I too agree that all rich successful people should be murdered without trial
>>
>>81324439
if you like or read punisher at all, that fedora applies to wanting pretty much anyone dead without trial
>>
>>81324139
>>81324179
Do you think Cap, after thawing out, took the time to read up on how war was done in Vietnam, aside from that one time he memorized the names of the people who died in Nam? I know in Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe he wasn't too in touch with it.
>>
>>81323940
Because Cap is the only other guy that can claim to be what Frank used to be: A Soldier. If anything, I think they both respect each other for that, despite the differences in their approach.
>>
>>81320000
Quads confirm, looks like whoever wears A/X, Levi's, and Mark's & Spencer's should expect a Frankening

Frank works on the belief that being dead is worse than being fucked over

He thinks this because he would rather his family still be alive and fucked over institutionally than be dead

When is Captain America going to publicly endorse Edward Snowden?
>>
>>81324530
>>81324504

In that Punisher: War Journal series from the mid-2000s, Cap was shown acting as a drill sergeant to a young Castle before he was shipped off to Vietnam

No idea if it was Rogers or one of the others, though
>>
>>81327370
I don't know about Snowden, but there's a Marvel analogue called The Whisperer that's been active recently, who is really Rick Jones.

I don't want to read a story about the Red Skull jerking off to his daughter blowing Captain America. Hopefully Mark Millar won't write that comic for a long time.

He was a Washington politician, so what else would he be?

But if it makes you feel any better, the last two issues of the volume had Frank go all Holy Terror on Not-ISIS.
>>
>>81319595
Big corporations like Disney have so much fucking money that they really don't care if one of their subsidiaries in the entertainment business writes an anti-capitalism/anti-corporativism story.

You have to be incredibly deluded if you think any suit from Wall Street would ever be afraid of a 20 page comic about fighting Wall Street enough to use their leverage inside a company to order them no never make a story about it.
>>
>>81327472
I hated that moment so much. It was funny, yeah, but Pete's not that much of a dickhead to tease Frank about his dead wife

Frank also knows that if he starts Franking board members of banks and companies that screw people over illegally, he puts more heat on himself from the the police, the Feds and SHIELD (As Fury can't bail him all the time). He keeps to street crime to keep a low profile, work his way to the top of an organization and then go back into the shadows once they have been sufficiently Franked.

>>81323940
>>81327405

It was one of the fakes. At the same time. Frank wishes he could be the man Steve Rodgers is along with Steve rank being higher. And Steve emphathises with Frank because they both were soldiers. He was one of lucky ones while Frank lost everything much like a lot of the veterans he served with. He's able to talk Frank down and stop him sometimes.

They have shown Cap reading up on other wars like Korea and Vietnam privately, but he keeps his opinions to himself because his job is to protect America. Not force ideology down people's throat.

Posting the GOAT Cap page where he beats up on the fascist Cap in a "What If?" story.
