What was your reaction to this scene?

Very cool, creepy atmosphere. Made me wish this was a solo Batman villain.
>>
>>81314000
Most Batman thing ever

HAHA ARKHAM
(It was super cool though. If you gotta copy, copy from the best.)
>>
That first Batman bit was fantastic.

Really amazing bit of camera work there. One of the few scenes in the movie that actually benefited from the slow, silent pauses and emphasis on soundtrack cues.
>>
Thought of this and cackled
>>
>>81314000
It was one of the few genuinely good scenes in the film. I was expecting a jumpscare, but liked what I got anyway.
>>
I loved how they portrayed them in this scene

>"A demon saved us!"
>slams cell door back shut after the police unlock it
>"It's still here!"

And then after the police rookie unloads several rounds into the wall
>Try not to shoot at the good guys.

Excellent job of informing the public image and relationship to Batman.

I think if I ever watch this movie again, I will only watch the parts that are just Batman alone.
>>
>>81314239
I really liked how the girls wouldn't leave the cage because they were terrified of Batman. I hope if the DCEU continues, Batman continues being a boogeyman-like figure in Gotham.
>>
>>81314000
Batman's been taking crime-fighting lessons from Spider-Man.
>>
>>81314239

I agree with this. That entire bit was fantastic. Pretty much everything about it.
>>
>>81314000
Reminded me of Bram Stoker's Dracula. It was one of the two legit good scenes in the movie (the other being the warehouse rescue).
>>
>>81314000
It was the Batman scene I always wanted. Something as simple as him clinging to a wall and escaping through the roof from the terrified rookie just drives home the point that maybe just maybe The Batman might be something supernatural
>>
>>81314000

>dat depth of field
>dat slow reveal

I'll admit, I didn't see him at first. Had that ping of panic when I realized he was there. God damn Snyder is based when he fires on all cylinders.

Just for the love of God keep him out of the editing booth

I wanted more Batman being Batman in this movie.
>>
>>81314000
I burst out into laughter and it got even worse when the cop shot at the other cop, I have no idea why, in retrospect there's nothing funny about it. Maybe the position Batman was in is a little bit goofy, but no reason to guffaw.
>>
>>81314000

It was great. Really well done.

Just imagine the batman solo.
What should his movie be called? The Batman?I like "The Caped Crusader"
>>
>>81315208
Same here, actually. It really was am amazing scene, but enemy it got to that point, I couldn't help the small laugh. I think for mfw it was just seeing him there and thinking that in his mind all he's saying is
>don't turn around
>don't turn around
>don't turn around
>SHIT
I loved the way this scene was handled, though. The way even the people he saved were terrified. Made me want to see more of this.

Best Batman scene ever.
>>
Was reminded of Blair Witch Project, and how much better a movie that was. And it kinda sucked.

I guess i'm the only one who thought it was unintentionally comical. this and the desert scene where he has the fucking goggles and coat almost made me laugh out loud but my brother was enjoying it so much i held it in.

I remember whispering "Oh jesus fuck" to my friend when I saw Batman in the background. Then it comes into focus and there's just this massive guy in a bat costume hanging from the ceiling staring at you, and despite how goofy it looks that only adds to how terrifying that shit would actually be.

>>81314000
It was cool but IMO the shipping yard scene Nolan did way back in Batman Begins was better.
Especially the "WHERE ARE YOU" moment.

Predator Batman is always cooler than brawler Batman though, which is why this scene in BvS gets such rave reviews.
>>
>>81314000
It's the first time Batman was scary to me. Not him being in the corner, but the build up. Cops walking around abandoned building, find women in basement, hear their captive upstairs screaming and pleading for Batman to stop. But you don't hear Batman say anything, you just hear the man responding to no one. It was brilliant. Then when you do finally see him, he gets shot at and swiftly moves out of the room and through a hole in the sealing leaving only a glimpse of his cape to the viewer. It was creepy, made him seem much more like a creature than a man. It showed you how regular people of Gotham see Batman.

>>
>>81322332
I still love how Darwin Cooke addressed the change from weird pulp hero 30's Batman to the friendlier 40's Batman in the New Frontier. Goes to save a kid who was about to be sacrificed by a fucking death cult, and ends up just freaking him out him even more. Cue cheery 40's costume and Robin the Boy Wonder by his side next time he shows up.
>"I started doing this to scare criminals, not children."
>>
>>81322409
I watched it again recently and that scene is really, really lame. Lots of shaky cam action and Bale's voice is dumb. I think he even actually names himself as the batman in that scene, which is also cheesy as fuck.
>>
>>81322505
> I think he even actually names himself as the batman in that scene, which is also cheesy as fuck.

So much better when a side character ironically suggests the name, and then everyone sighs, letting you know how witty and self aware the writers are.
>>
>>81322624
Ok? Obviously both of them are lazy writing.
>>
>>81321780

Credit where credits due that is really well done and (almost) perfectly timed. Shame about the rest of the movie because that opening was legitimately great
>>
>>81314000
He looked pretty goofy desu.
>>
>>81322824
You're right, it's better when the local newspaper or DA's office doesn't know what to call him, so they just refer to him as "that bat vigilante" or something and kind of dance around it until the last minute
>>
>>81322926
>>81322624

When did everybody start calling Clark Superman? I know Lois was about to say it but she got cut off

I've been meaning to read that. I saw the animated movie a while back, is it worth the read?
>>
>>81322505
>Lots of shaky cam action and Bale's voice is dumb
The combat has the shakeycam but that's not the bit I care about, and I can agree to that. The Balevoice thing though? I'm calling BS because he only speaks one line in that whole scene and it's in a whisper, not that stupid growl.
>>
>>81317352
That's pretty good.
>>
>>81323589
Yeah bales voice was not bad in the first movie. It was a little gravely but he didnt sound like he had full blown pussy cancer in his throat like in the next two films.
>>
>>81323854
I'm almost certain that in Begins it's just Bale doing a voice, while in TDK and Rises there's some post-production modulation going on.
>>
>>81314000
>>
>>81322438
This breddy much.
It helps a lot that in most comics you see the story from Batman POV, so to narrate it like this, from the cop POV was pretty original
>>
Seeing him was odd. I've never seen Bats stick to the wall like that.

It was when he moved like a huge black shadow and escaped that he really rustled my jimmies.
>>
>>81314000
The first time I saw the movie, I remember thinking it looked cheesy. The second time, it looked better. It fits Batman and the character, but I wish it hadn't shown the gray parts of his costume. If his cloak had been draped over him and he looked more bat-like, it would have been perfect. His escape through past the cop and through the roof was incredible though.
>>
>>81321780
Damn that's good.

The comic is a hell of a lot better. The movie honestly ruins the impact of a lot of the comic's more bombastic and striking scenes, with some shoddy framing and animation. How they handled pic related being one of the biggest offenders.

It also cut a lot of shit down or just out entirely, like the opening with The Losers, and the John Henry Irons subplot which was reduced to a literal sidenote.

Honestly the comic really wasn't suited for a movie, and would've worked a lot better as a mini series instead.
