I think Kaa here might be a neutral character. Not really against Mowgli, but not letting an opportunity of food pass her by.

Yeah but there's zero reason to believe it had a high dome. His skull is higher than even australopithecus. I can believe males had large sagittal crest but there would be a huge gap between the brow and crest while Louie here looks like it's all smooth bone.
The jaw would also not protrude as much but you don't really notice it due to the face flaps that make his face look flatter.
