What a weird coincidence.
>>
First time X-men have been fun in ages
>>
>>81258913
>Jubilee is almost as tall as Chamber
Jesus Christ.
>>
This is boring.
Where is Cyclops? I may start reading it again once Cyclops comes back
>>
I read the previous Infinite Comic volume, and I try to construct a synopsis:
>The X-Men were greeted by Baron Robert Kelly, who is proud of having those mutants defeat Magneto, Apocalypse, and other classic X-villains
>The X-Men were summoned to the Clearwater facility
>its head was Cassandra Nova
>While she introduces the X-Men to her program which involves having a Westchester without mutant violence, she telepathically "kills" Professor Charles Xavier; then she revealed herself as another telepathic host for the Shadow King
>Nova subjected all but Jubilee to the Mind Field, in which only Wolverine, Rogue, and Gambit passed
>Beast, and Storm were banished to the Rej-X, where was found by Jubilee
>Meanwhile, the OG X-Force found Charles unconscious
>Jean Grey, while in the Mind Field, unleashed Phoenix while trying to free herself and Cyclops
>Psylocke traced the psychic attack on Charles to Nova; X-Force decided to go to Clearwater
>Jean and Cyke were eventually rejected; Nova revealed her true intentions and planned to kill Baron Kelly via the X-Sentinel
>Nova dispatched the X-Sentinel to Westechester's museum, where Baron Kelly was; she introduced the "New X-Men" (Wolverine, Gambit, and Rogue), and programmed them to only save civilians
>Storm, Jean, Cyke, Beast, Jubilee, the Rej-X, X-Force, and other mutants came to fight the X-Sentinel
>Wolverine was the first to break free of Nova's control
>The newly recuperated Charles (with the aid of Psylocke) psychically defeated the Shadow King in Nova's mind
>The combined X-Men continued to beat up the X-Sentinel and finally save Baron Kelly's life
>Jubilee used up much energy to deliver the final blow to the X-Sentinel
>>
Are they going to do a comic based on the Spider-Man cartoon of the same era?

We never found out what happened to Mary Jane.
>>
>>81259490

>I think epilogue 1's writing is shit so I forgot it
>Epilogue 2: Baron Kelly went to a secret place underground to see Apocalypse, Mystique, and a few other evil mutants; Apocalypse again convinced Baron Kelly to join in his iconic plan of an eternal survival of the fittest
>>
>>81259443
Went to Alaska with Jean.
Sims hates Cyclops so that was mean to remove him from story.

>>

Have Storm and Logan always been the same height? Coulda sworn she was taller
>>
>>81259805
I hope you won't wake up...

Why don't you read it again, just in case?
>>
Why does every writer hate Cyclops? FFS I wanted this book BECAUSE it had classic 90s cartoon Cyclops, now he's not even in the goddamned book.
>>
>>81259501
John Semper's working for DC and Marvel has a "black people should only work on black books" policy, so doubtful.
>>81259818
Storm is supposed to be tall, yes.
>>
>>81260279
>black people should only work on black books
wait, what?
>>
>>81258634
Damn, trough all my childhood I wished I earned one of those one day. I used to have actual dreams about going to Xavier school every night. I shit you not.
>>
>>81258846
>Von Strucker
Twincest and swords incoming!
>>
>>81260324
Christopher Priest quit Marvel because they only wanted him to write black books, and the last straw was when they canceled his Captain America and Falcon ongoing and offered him a Falcon solo as compensation back in the mid 00s. Marvel told Mark Waid he couldn't write Black Panther despite his great pitch for it because he wasn't black, so they had to give it to a black non-fiction writer.
>>
>>81260459
I thought that this policy is history.
How hypocritical of marvel
>>
>>81260530
Coates on Black Panther, David Walker on Iron Fist and Power Man. They bent the rules a little with the upcoming Blade ongoing with Seeley, but it's okay, they sacked the white artist and replaced him with a black woman.
>>
>>81259079
Chamber's not especially tall, is he?
>>
>>81260588
Gee marvel, instead of all that pandering, how about giving some minorities a job? But I guess it's easier for marvel to champion themselves as progressive rather than really be
>>
So comics are so bad that they have to make them exactly as they were 20 years ago, I guess.
>>
>>81258948
A hunched over savage with a big mouth full of teeth? Shocking!
>>
>>81260704

>>
>>81260818
I'd tell you that that is exactly what I just said and congratulate you on eventually reaching the appropriate conclusion, in spite of getting there backwards.
>>
>>81260857
How... Uncanny
>>
>>81260704
In the 80s, adults were nostalgic for the 80s, now it's the 90s turn. In the 2020s we'll be getting 00s nostalgia.
>>
>>81259651
Sims mentioned that Cyke and Jean're probably going to come back, just right now Cyke's kind of done and needs a break.

Which is pretty X-Men, especially X-Men 92 where Beast was in jail for a whole season.
>>
>>81260911
>In the 80s, adults were nostalgic for the 80s
Oh yeah?
>>
>>81260926
Typo, the first one's obviously supposed to be 00.
>>
>>81260911
Oh noes. Kids of today should defend themselves from 10s.

00s weren't that bad, except somewhere in the middle it became a joke

The problem is that fans and "fans" and critics get pissy when the wrong gender or skin color writes a book that's not "for them".

Look at the attempted outrage over Rucka getting a second Wondy run over Bennet.
>>
>>81260597
Jubilee, on the other hand, is tiny.

The Spider-Man cartoon took place in the same universe as X-Men '92, right? Maybe Spider-Man could show up on this comic and say what happened with MJ.

Even though according to Dan Slott that Spider-Man died during Spider-Verse.
>>
>>81261326
Splendid idea.

Sloth likes to troll people, and beside that, no one really cares about him
>>
>>81261326
This is a combination of the cartoon and 90s X-Men comics as opposed to a continuation of the cartoon.
>>
>>81259818
all of the heights look messed up to me. beast isn't supposed to be that much shorter than wolverine. in fact he's canonically much taller than him.

really disappointed that this doesn't look nearly as good as the mini. the art is nowhere near as good.

with the mini, the concept of creating a '92 x men universe was cool, but the story was what really sold it (for me at least). it was engaging and interesting. this is just the school and trying to figure out how many characters and references they can cram into each panel.

I feel obligated to state here that I hope Marvel collects/reprints Gen X in its entirety if this turns out to be popular/successful
>>
>>81261461

The writer said that he plans to continue storylines that were never finished in the original X-Men cartoon.

http://www.newsarama.com/26059-gen-xers-rejoice-x-men-92-returns-with-generation-x-to-boot.html

>Bowers: There's a couple of major story threads from the '90s that were either dropped or never fully expanded upon that I've always been curious about. So now, I get to tap into my inner 13 year old and answer some of those questions for myself, and that's been a blast!
>>
>>81258621
Now I hope they'll continue this "NINE-TEES ARE CEWL" trend and make a comicbook sequel to the Spider-Man: TAS.
>>
it's kinda neat, because Soviet Super Soldiers were originally mutant team - Darkstar, Ursa Major, and Vanguard.
>>
>>81261716
He didn't necessarily reference the cartoon there, he also could have been talking about 90s comics which had dozens of dropped plots.
>>
>>81262321
ahhh, and here my hopes are crushed
>>
>>81258663
This page is packed to the brim with fun, I forgot that I could smile when reading comics.
>>
>>81263817
the truth is, marvel sucks nowadays.
notice how the issue is compressed
>>
>>81262121
really? fucking muties
>>
BUMP for the best marvel book
>>
>>81261326
>Even though according to Dan Slott that Spider-Man died during Spider-Verse.

No, the one who died during Spider-Verse was a Spider-Man who lived through the '94 show and Spider-Man Unlimited.
>>
>>81266624
Grrreaat
>>
>>81266624
John Semper said he's still alive. Same with DeFalco and Frenz's claim Mayday was'nt really part of Spider-Verse.
>>
>>81266624
Also, the Multiverse has just been rebooted, so that universe might be alive again with its own Spidey again
>>
>>81266897
Yeah and Kaare Andrews said Spider-Man Reign was still alive, too.

Maybe they should all team up in case Slott doubles down on saying those versions of Peter are dead.

I'm already nostalgic for lots of early to mid 00s stuff, moreso than a lot of 90s stuff.
