He is the Superman we need now more than ever....
A stranger in a strange land, torn from the ashes of his native reality he is the moral compass that the Marvel Universe needs now more than ever.
Glorified Ultraman.

I prefer Sentry
>>81227742
It would be awesome if Marvel made a hit Hyperion or Sentry movie. In light of the BvS fiasco they'd be crazy not to try. Imagine them doing Superman better than DC.

>Marvel should rip off DC
Again?
>>81228161
A Squadron Supreme movie would rock.
As for Sentry, probably would be best to let the MCU build more so that his movie could feature him reminding everyone of all the times he helped or saved them during the events of past movies explaining away otherwise noticeable plot holes and what not.
>>81228161
>Sentry
>the bad guy pilots a helicarrier
>the superhero dies in his first movie ever
>>81228224
Stay salty friend
>>81228254
He would die by plunging himself and the void into the Sun in an act of self sacrifice, the sum lesson of the movie leading up to that point: "Sometimes being a hero means saving the world... from yourself."
>>81227809
This.
>>81227809
>>81228284
>>81228278
Sounds retarded enough to be made into a Memevel movie.
>Stay salty
No,I stay with the originals, not with obscure imitations.
>>81227742
Kamen Rider Nuclear?
>>81228329
Hyperion... what? 3? Isn't really an Imitation, he's a homage to Superman in his purest form/
>>81228371
>homage
Boy, you never read the original Squadron Supreme, didn't you?
>>81228396
He's talking about the present, current Hyperion who's becoming disillusioned with the Squadron's methods.
>>81228224
> Marvel ripping off DC
No, if Marvel was ripping off DC they would make the Movie: Hyperion v Moonknight: Dawn of Grimderp. We'd have to retcon out the rest of the MCU though so it could also be the rushed second cinematic installment in an unproven franchise. The first movie of course would be Hyperion the Neck Snapper.
>>81228431
>if Marvel was ripping off DC they would make the Movie: Hyperion v Moonknight: Dawn of Grimderp
Instead, they made Captain America v Iron Man: Landing Strip Gangfight.

> Marvel traveled back in time to make the Civil War comic book ripping off DC's BvS trainwreck movie.
I'll give them initiative for the time travel, but they're really blowing it by not making Civil War the second movie in their cinematic universe.
>>81228562
And you're too angry to live a quiet normal life, it seems.
>>81228570
So CW will be even worse than expected.
>>81228612
Oh of course, it will be nothing but a shadow of the glorious BvS cinematic masterpiece made by the visionary Snyder. Curse Marvel and their trying to copy DC's successful shared cinematic universe.
>>81228612
currently there are 9 other people in this thread besides you. so far, 2 of them think you're shit
>>81228161
Lame as fuck ripoff that would be spotted kilos away.
>>81228654
Did you even read the event? It was abysmal.
Nice company war, anyway.
>>81228772
>2/9 only
Oh the shame.
>>81228796
Not exactly, when you adapt the sentry, you'll have to adapt the void too. It could be built up an interesting metaphor for mental illness or bipolar disorder, but no one at Marvel is clever enough for that.
>>81228772
Make that 3 people.
Also I think I'd love a movie about the Sentry, as he has the capability for the "nicest" Superman kind of character, has an interesting hook where nobody remembers him, and an interesting Ying-Yang sort of villain in the Void. You could sort of thumb your nose at DC's dreary Superman movies and tell an interesting story at the same time. But admittedly, the idea of getting the Squadron Supreme movie out there before DC can cobble together a Justice League movie (if in fact it does get pushed back due to the flopping of BvS) would generate unbelievable amounts of sodium that would be hard to pass up on.

Nice. Which issue was this? I read through the Hickman run and the torrent didn't have this.
qties
>>81228900
Issue 34.1, It's bundled with the Avengers World, the companion book to Hickman's run.
The Avengers World book also has a few more Hyperion moments in it too.
Is that it? I was really enjoying that. I didn't even know this Marvel clone existed, but I like him.
>>81229101
next issue comes out in a month.
You can find more of him and his introduction in the mainstream Marvel continuity in Hickman's Avengers run and the post-Secret Wars book: "Squadron Supreme"
>>81227864
Hyperion making that spaghetti entrance is such a great moment.
>>81228853
>It could be built up an interesting metaphor for mental illness or bipolar disorder
you'd probably have better luck building it up as something more meta, like a sort of entity of pure grimdark that gets stronger the more people go out of their way to make Sentry's life a miserable mess. Hyperion wants to be Super-Reeves, but Norman (or some similar greasy CEO type) wants Man of Murder. 'dying' and everyone forgetting about him could even be used as an allegory for a franchise getting shelved until the next reboot five years later.
I mean I realize that's pretty much exactly what happened in Siege but its a matter of context, emphasis and use of symbolism.
>>81228683
Oh fuck
The real question is what would the Villain be? And how would they make them anyway interesting without making them Loki?
>>81229385
Why does there need to be an arch enemy? Why can't Hyperion just be a source for good traveling the world, righting wrongs?
If he has to have one, it should be Nighthawk. They're at opposite ends of the spectrum in their views on how the world should be handled, but not in a way that is compatible like Batman and Superman.
>>81229385
>what would the Villain be?
Sentry, of course.
>>81229529
Especially Supreme Powers Nighthawk, who's currently running SS, who's methods could only be approved by the Punisher.
Reminds me of dr Manhattan the way he speaks
>>81227742
>You can't hurt me criminal! Not when I'm wearing my golden atomic diaper!
>>81229385
>what would the Villain be?
>>81229529
>Why can't Hyperion just be a source for good traveling the world, righting wrongs?
Well as we've seen, going around righting wrongs tends to get you on the bad side of the folks who think they ought to be running the world, and when that happens, they tend to try and create something or someone that can stop you.
To that end, I liked Nuke from Supreme Power. Older versions were the Squadron's answer to Firestorm by SP made him more like captain Atom. Nuclear powered dude in high tech armor would be a good match for Hyperion and it'd be easy to add in Hyperion having something to do with his origin, like his Flash Vision somehow turned him radioactive or else activated some kind of mutant gene or some such.
That gives Nuke his basis to want to destroy Hyperion and then the gubmint comes along and gives him the suit and says "Go get 'em."
>>81228699
Thnx anon
>>81227809
Why? he doesn't grown into godzilla size
>>81227823
Sentry has nothing to do with Supes now actually. He'd be more Captain Atom/Superboy Prime with Joker alter-ego or something like that
>>81228329

This is coming from a guy that fucking loves classic Superman - DCuck pls go and stay gone.
