Is this best cape movie ever made ?
>>
Yes.
>>
>>81223397
Yup.
>>
BRAVO NOLAN
>>
>>81223397
>dc
fuck no
>>
Overrated shit that's about as corny as Raimi's Spider-Man movies but takes itself ten times more seriously.
>>
>>81223547
>seriously

There's that word again. Hoo boy.
>>
>>81223397
No. Joker is an onmipresent super brain and Fox gave away Wayne's secret
>>
>>81223547

I don't agree that it's corny, far from it. But for a movie swimming with plotholes it's definitely overrated. Still a lot better than that TDKR trainwreck.

Begins is superior to both.
>>
>>81223623
You can fuck right off, faggot.
When the idiocy that happens in the movie is presented with a completely straight face as if we're watching a tragic autobiography of a famous man instead of a very dumb cape flick, and Nolan's dialogue sounds like an amateur writer writing his first novel, I can absolutely say it takes itself too seriously.

It's only rememberd because it's darker than most cape films, and apparently dark equaled good at the time.

>>81223670
>far from it
You're fucking wrong. It's unintentionally corny, and not even in a good way.
>>
>>81223670
I preferred Begins as well because it actually felt like a comic book movie, not Tactical Suit man.
>>
>>81223397
I don't think so. It's certainly the one the normies prefer.
>>
>>81223397
Blade.
>>
>>81223397
It's absolutely the best film about capeshit but it's not really much a superhero film, if that make sense. It's the reason why critics feel comfortable classifying it as serious cinema compared to The Avengers.
>>
>>81223547
>Taking itself seriously means it's impossible to enjoy
kek

You know lots of fun films take themselves seriously? For example, The Blob is played totally straight but is rightly remembered as a classic corny sci-fi.
>>
>>81223397
Well, currently it's the best cape shit to date.
>>
I prefer Batman Begins.

If we're talking superheroes in general Spider-man 2, GOTG, Iron Man, and DOFP are just barely above begins.
>>
Not even in the top 3 Batman movies.
>>
>Ctrl + F Unbreakable
>no results
Sigh.
>>
>>81223952
Well too bad TDK is too damn dull to be fun in any way.
There's aiming to be serious like C.H.U.D. with its Greenpeace-tier message and ending up being a bad but enjoyable in "it's so bad it's good" way flick, and then there's being up its own ass like TDK and ending up being cringeworthy as a result.
>>
>>81224003

Not based on a funnybook, anon.

But it's still excellent, good taste.
>>
>>81223976
>Spider-man 2, GOTG, Iron Man, and DOFP
lol

Yes. BRAVO NOLAN.
>>

>I have nothing to say

Kill yourself, idiot.

>>81224003
If we're talking about films not based on comics, Robocop (technically) is the best superhero movie there is.
>>
>>81223397
Probably not but it's a strong contender. Begins and TMNT are high up there for me.
>>
>>81224055
>I have nothing to say
>better resort to "Kill yourself, idiot."
lol
>Robocop (technically) is the best superhero movie there is.
With such standards, no wonder cape movies suck so much.
>>
>>81224003
>>81224028
Yeah I'd put Unbreakable and the Incredibles as the best movies about capeshit if not based on comics.
Incredibles is just about the best Fantastic Four film in much the same way as Galaxy Quest is one of the best Star Trek films.
>>
>>81224113
>WAHH WAHH WAHH NO U
Get off the computer, kid.
>>
>>81224118
>Incredibles is just about the best Fantastic Four film
Only because the F4 movies are so shit.
Incredible is a good movie but it's not an F4 movie.

TDKR is pure kinó
>>
>>81223397
No, that title goes to the Incredibles
>>
I prefer Batman Begins, but TDK is pretty great.
>>
>>81223397
I really enjoyed X-men 2 a whole lot more, but it's probably the most wellrounded and accessible capeflick ever made.
>>
>>81223623
y so cereal?
>>
I preferred the first one.

It was literally someone sitting down and going "What would happen if someone ACTUALLY did the batman thing, but using state-of-the-art military tech and having lots of organised crime so its not just Watchmen?"

And to that end it kinda worked. It was an experiment. Nolan covered up the shit he wasn't good at (fight choreography, for example) with shit he was good at (2-second shot of batman landing on a guy and cut away).

The 'bat sonar' or whatever at the end of TDK ruined the realism angle for me, and TDKR basically ruined everything else.

Also Gotham goes from a cool unique gothic city with big slums and smoke and undercities in Begins to just New York. That was also lame.

It's the best movie for people who are self-conscious or even ashamed of their comic fandom.
>>
>>81224019
>lol

pls no bully
>>
>>81224620

>It's ashamed of being a comic movie

There's a special level in hell for this kind of criticism. It means absolutely nothing.
>>
>>81224620
>not being self-conscious about everything

do you even hate yourself?
>>
>>81223397
Yes
>>
I'm sort of annoyed that Begins isn't held in higher regard compared to TDK
>>
>>81224788
I mostly don't like Beginings a whole lot because I think the origin story throws off the pace of the movie and it doesn't become good until halfway in.

You could make an argument that it is.

Spider-Man 2 is.

I felt Batman '89 was a better Batman movie even with Keaton's Batman killing people.
>>
>>81224146
It's everything F4 movie should be.
>>
>>81225704
God how? Keaton was such a bad choice, and Jack Nicholson joker is fucking corny as all hell.

It's not as serious as Snyder takes his films.

TDKR was Pittsburgh with some flying shots of various cities that were more than just NY.

>to just New York
Gotham was Chicago, not New York.

And while that's certainly true, Gotham went from being, well, Gotham, to being just Chicago, I don't agree that it's a bad thing.

The way I see it, Nolan decided to take a more realistic, crime thriller, 'what if this happened in real life' take on Batman. Now in Begins, that stuff is mixed with more traditional Batman elements. Gotham is a metropolis that stretches for miles like Tokyo, bathed in pale orange light and with sub-city slums, a thin layer of art deco over the dark gothic architecture. There is still a league of assassins, there is still a very unrealistic, stylized 'Batman' stylistic element present.

The Dark Knight takes almost all of that out. It fully embraces Nolan's take on the tone and style. The plot, character arcs, dilemas, and themes of Batman are all still there, but the style is no longer split, it has fully embraced the cold, realistic, intense crime thriller style Nolan wanted.

No approach is objectively better than the other, and I certainly understand why people like the way Begins handled it more, but for me, I think TDK worked better for it. Begins was a movie stretched in two directions. It's tone felt confused, it wasn't sure what it wanted to be. TDK had no such problems. It fully committed to what it needed to be. Sure, it wasn't very Batman in style, but it wasn't supposed to be. It was an adaptation, a different take on Batman, in a different world with a different style. But it still got the themes and ideas of Batman right. It got what makes these characters and their struggles compelling and interesting.

Also, by contrast, my favorite Batman movie is Mask of the Phantasm. And it completely embraces the style and tone of Batman. It completely and utterly embodies the feel of it. Where as Begins had some of that, but was trying to marry it with a different style. TDK and Phantasm commit to their styles, Begins is torn between two worlds.

In terms of actual cinema? Yeah, easily. Nothing even comes close.

But as far as superpowered stuff goes, I still side with Spider-man 2.
>>
>>81229004

Blade II is better then the original
>>
>>81223976
Begins is easily Nolan's worst movie and only plebs who only watch capeshit would disagree.

Hot opinions that people always get asspained over coming through.

If I bothered updating it, I'd put Antman in Fun but Flawed tier, Deadpool in Forgettable Tier and BvS & Age of Ultron in Genuinely Awful Tier.

Yes, hands down. Unless you are a marvel fanboy.

>>
>>81223397
Is not cape kino, is a crime drama that has Batman in it. That is why is the best critically receive cape movie. As a superhero movie/adaptation it may not be that good.

Still my personal favorite cape movie because the drama in it is far more better than anything any other cape movie tried to do.
>>
>>81226219
No, it isn't. Actually read F4.

Close.

Unless we're talking about anything with supers heroes, not comic adaptations, in which case The Incredibles takes the cake by an absolute mile.

Wut, he's better than the edgelord Joker Ledger played.

Returns is best Bats movie
>>

Nolan didn't want to. He is "above" capeshit movies that is why his Batman is more of a traditional crime drama than a superhero film.

Yeah, thats the thing about Deadpool to me. I get why people liked it and I appreciate the authenticity.

But I think I just came out of that movie realizing I just don't care for Deadpool. And honestly, I don't remember all that much about it besides Wham, strap on fucking and Colossus being a parody.

>of those subplots, none of them involve hunting down Uncle Ben's killer
>Electro's motivation is borderline non-existent
>Here's Harry for no reason, they're acting like they're old men when the last time they saw each other they were 10 at the oldest
>_____-blood plot from Orci and Kurtzman yet again
>Harry has no way of knowing how the Goblin suit works or even how it would save him
>forced as fuck Death of Gwen Stacy moment with additional hilarious web hand
>Ghost Dad
>pretty much all of it is done so Sony can have a Spider-verse
Its a very poorly constructed movie. I could remember all those problems and I haven't seen it in at least a year.
