Gems aren't designed to be free-thinking entities. They're meant to fill a very specific role. While the rest of the Crystal Gems knew their purpose and were given a chance to grow beyond it, Amethyst was left alone for hundreds of years without the chance to be molded and know her purpose and then basically told to "make do" by the shitheads that caused her to be fucked up and then coddled for the next few thousand years so she never really came into her own.
Now, in an extremely short time, she's being forced into roles she was never prepared for after suffering additional helpings of emotional trauma. It's all sort of coming to a head in the worst way. She's probably going to set Beach City on fire, throw Steven into the sun, and rape Peridot.

Because of how long they live, it still feels like they lost Rose yesterday. Steven's only 14 and the Gems are thousands of years old. Rose only saved Garnet and Pearl, and they found Amethyst a few hundred years after the war.
Additionally, Quartzes likely aren't made to think, they're made to be big and strong. Amethyst is not only defective, but she also has very little idea just how defective she is.

so I've been looking into the possibility that Lion is Rose and Greg's cat mixed with gem shards and there are some problems:
