ITT your hometown/general vicinity in /co/ media
I'm from Stamford.
>>81195209
Pic related is probably the closest.
As for a city, I can't think of anything closer than Paris.
Wait no, there is Pampelune in Spain, which appeared in Jackie Chan (and probably others).
They destroyed Soldier Field in Siege
>>81195375
Good lord, who put a school that close to superpowered people?
For the life of me I couldn't find any /co/ related media about Idaho that wasn't a cheap potato or shape-of-the-state joke, so have Tarzan swinging the fuck out of the barren wasteland he was written in.
Hatley Castle. AKA the X-Mansion, Oliver Queen's mansion, and Lex Luthor's mansion
Not in my hometown but a short drive from it
Pic related from Osmosis Jones is all I can think of besides a passing mention in Sam & Max.
anyone know if Tampa florida has been animated? the only thing i could think of was that time we were in a tony hawk game.
Any shows that take place in Brooklyn?
>>81196465
Those bastards
>>81197561
I was literally just about to upload this, jerk.
My city is only used as a stand in for when it's too expensive to film in New York
I live near the House of Mystery in Oregon, so I guess I'm kind of close to something Gravity Falls related. Other than that it's a few hours drive to Springfield.
Velletri, Rome
>>81197710
Also i live a two meters from one of the entrances of the catacombs. It's a Pizzeria.
>tfw your city has a statue of Robocop
>>81195209
I remember reading a couple years ago that I technically live in Duckburg...
>>81195209
Any /co/ media representation of Rio de Janeiro?
Iron Man went to Charlotte, NC once, which amounted to Greg Land tracing over a picture of our skyline and a caption stating the place.
It made the papers.
>>81195209
Iron Man 3 had him crash landing in or somewhere near Knoxville, TN.
except that it doesn't FUCKING SNOW HERE
>>81200184
Not yet.
>>81200171
That's not the king of Portland, Dale Cooper is.
Anyone know anything with Memphis, TN in it?
Perhaps one showing how big of a shithole it is?
>every piece of media says the Xavier institute is in upstate New York
>it's not even a half hour from NYC
Closest thing I can even think of that referenced upstate and did it right was Frisky Dingo mentioning that it's where all the prisons in the state are.
Non-/co/-related material brings it a little closer. I used to live about a mile away from Almanzo Wilder's farm. It was nothing exciting. Used to get a bunch of faggot-ass tourists and school teachers from downstate calling my house and asking if the farm was open to field trips since they had no phone.
Is Jingle All the Way /co/ related?
>>81198938
Rio, or whatever that Angry Birds thing was called.
I can't think of a cartoon that has Seattle in it.
>>81201322
New 52 Green Arrow takes place there.
>mfw people don't even remember West Virginia exists, let along base any stories there
>>81197492
Super Mario is from Brooklyn. Does Gargoyles in some episodes take place in Brooklyn or is it strictly Manhattan?
>>81201449
There was that Silent Hill movie that took place in West Virginia. That's the only thing I can think of.
I'm surprised nobody has said this yet.
>>81195209
I think like, a third of Alpha Flight is from Montreal. Does that count?
Not Buenos Aires, but there's no comics with La Plata on them. What the fuck, Buenos Aires is not tropical, holy shit this triggers me
>>81200333
Does Graceland count?
My hometown is actually called Westeros. Local media thought it was the funnies shit ever.
Haha
no
>>81200333
Looking it up, there's this, apparently.
http://www.war-ofthe-worlds.co.uk/memphis_front.htm
I'd assume that if the comic hadn't been cancelled the city would have become a shithole.
Dublin, Ireland
Bang on desu, they even captured the shit weather perfectly
>>81200333
Alan Moore's Crossed +100 had the ruins of Memphis.
>>81195209
Fun Fact
The radio serial "Adventures of Superman", which aired from 1940 to 1951 was the first source to establish an actual real world location for the Kent's farm and the town of Smallville... in Iowa
Over the thirty years that followed the radio show, the location of Smallville jumped with almost every new arc and continuity - Smallville spent time in Colorado, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, Delaware, Illinois, etc.
Like most of DC's original IPs, Superman's backstory (and hometown) remained in a state of flux until the Crisis on Infinite Earths event, when the location of Smallville was permanently moved to Kansas.
oh HAHH didn't knew this
Nothing interesting happens in the Netherlands so it's no wonder the comics reflect that, but I'm surprised the International Criminal Court made in the Hague made an appearance.
I don't think Saddlelake Nation will ever appear in any comic books
>>81197478
I live in Tampa too, and unfortunately this is all I know of.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08D6G--bwM4
I'm from New York. 10 minutes away from Spider-Man's neighborhood.
A little tired of seeing it blown up honestly.
fuck la desu
>>81201958
About the only time this state is used is if they need an abandoned mine shaft to fart around in.
>>81205039
>it autocorrected to fucking desu
>meant to say desu
i'll see myself out
SF bay area, so WBB. It even showed them on BART once. Only thing the show is missing is all the rich assholes, the homeless, and the weird shit rich people can afford to do in SF.
The ideal and the reality.
>>81201449
It was in American Dad once when he helped a bunch of Mexicans escape the state border.
>Look Ma, Mexicans.
>Ah like beans and such.
It was filmed here, does that count?
I can't think of anything set in Buffalo.
>Houston, Texas
Uh... does this count?
>Denverfag
>only /co/ stuff we get is South Park
>also that Superman: Grounded issue where he chats with Flash while walking through Boulder
Being from Denver is suffering. No one gives a single shit about us aside from skiing and weed.
It's a stretch.
Looks like someone took Barnes, mixed it with Balamory and had Dr. Seuss do the civic engineering.
>>81206160
Anon I care about you
>>81204811
Neat.
>>81206249
Thanks, anon. Just wish more /co/ creators gave us our due. I mean, fucking Houston had one of Spiderman's clones as it's resident superhero if I recall correctly.
Fucking. Houston.
>>81206426
>Fucking. Houston.
You got sum'da say nigga?
>>81205008
I too am from New York. Also known as "blown-up-or-set-on-fire-or-destroyed-by-an-alien-invasion" City.
Other than this >>81205792 anyone know any Detroit-related stuff?
Is Gotham more like Chicago or Detroit?
>>81206694
Just that I find it asinine that you guys get a freaking Spiderman and all we have is some foul mouthed cut out kids and a brief mention here and there.
WE ARE THE MANHATTAN OF THE ROCKIES AND WE DESERVE BETTER!!
>>81197694
I feel you anon
I can't think of anything /co/ related that even touches St. Louis. That Defiance show, some literature, and a briefly confusing film titled King of the Hill
>>81205084
It's a word filter, Roodypoo
>>81195209
Since I live in Germany, 200.0% of it is about football.
>Metropolis is supposedly in Delaware
>Delaware got a few mentions in Daredevil Season 2
I was surprised but I'm happy
only thing that comes to mind
>>81202646
I think El Gaucho is from BA as well
>all these fags not in NY
Literally every Marvel media has at least a cameo of this shithole
>Maryland
Its either Baltimore as a crime-ridden drug factory, or Washington DC as a magnet for terrorists and aliens. The rest of the state might as well not exist.
>>81205998
I think Buck Rogers takes place there.
>>81209723
what aboutNazi's?
>>81207107
Colorado has ALL of Stargate. Houston got one Spidey clone.
>>81201322
Icarly, but that's not a cartoon
What /co/ shit takes place in Michigan?
>Small town in British Columbia, Canada
I'll be lucky if I can even find animated BC to begin with.
There's a couple of references to my home city.
I can't think of a single cartoon or comic to happen in Austin or Dallas Texas.
>>81211674
And another.
>>81211620
Braceface took place in Elkford
I live in Georgia so... The Walking Dead?
>>81211712
It seems like most of the references to Cincinnati are related to Marvel.
DC likes Union Terminal, though.
i dont think anything is set in portsmouth
>>81206093
No. Are you even trying fampai?
>>81211719
My home town's in the Peace River region, but it'll have to do.
>>81206900
Cheyenne Cinnamon's opening took place in Detroit.

>that sign with billy quizboy in the background

I hope it rains tomorrow
>>81211085
Of course he fucking is.
That's like having a superhero called "The Cowboy" and having him be from Washington DC.
New Zealand. That's a challenge. I know there's a panel or two in X-Men somewhere featuring Auckland, but I can't find it... Kiwi Black will have to do.
>>81212514
Fucking found it.
>>81195209
Quahog is basically Providence
Basically live 30 minutes away.
>lousville kentucky
Pretty sure we got frogman from marvel or something. Cant actually think of anything that has been near hear or even in the same state.
>>81195209
I live in the DC area, so yeah, lots of shit
Too lazy to find a picture, so just imagine buffy.jpg or something.
>>81213893
Is that from Yellow Submarine?
> Alan Tudyk, voice of Green Arrow in Young Justice, was born in El Paso
Huh.
Hometown is NYC.
So almost everything.
It's not strictly /co/, but it's the one animated thing I specifically associate with DC, even though only the first episode takes place in it. Mostly because it's the only thing to every accurately portray DC.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBf8az_8oSo
The city where I live does not appear anywhere and never will. This is the closest thing I found.
>>81216030
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m59QO_sBrzw
Have any comics been set in the Inland Northwest?
And no, Twilight and Twin Peaks take place on the other side of Washington.
>>81197478
Tampa anon too. I don't recall ever seeing Tampa in a /co/-related media, but I'd imagine it'd be about strip clubs like your post (they got the 2001 Odyssey mock pretty good, actually).
There's not much we stand out for though--a yearly pirate fest, some strip clubs, and old cigar factories, so I don't know that's there's a lot of material to go on.
the only accurate depiction
>>81207508
fuck yea trees of mystery
>>81214044
Hellblazer
>>81204811
Holy shit, I drive through your city all the time. We actually have our own superhero, though, so I think we win.
>>81204811
Also, you're not too far from Waverly, which is Hawkeye's birthplace. My mom thought that was cool, since she's from a small town outside a small town outside of Waverly.
I'm about an hour out from this place >>81207508
>>81197772
We also have a Great Museum, but you will get robbed in the parking lot.
>>81197779
You live in Calisota?
>>81200303
This is all kinds of wrong
>>81206163
looks like brussels. what is this from and who the fuck thought this even feels like london?
>>81201322
Here's a comic.
Does Sacramento, California appear in comics or cartoons?
Tintin and the whole crew pass through Geneva, Switzerland, in the Calculus Affair.
Other than that Titeuf possibly takes place in Geneva, that's where the author is from and he modelled Titeuf's school after his own in Carouge.
>>81197478
The Punisher movie takes place in Tampa.
I'm almost certain that I've readDüsseldorfin a Deadpool comic before
>>81206900
I think Biker Mice From Mars spent some time there. There was another Plutarkian invader besides Chicago's Limburger, and that guy had his base in Detroit if I'm not mistaken.
>tfw you live in NYC
I don't think Ghent has ever been mentioned in a comic, but Tintin lives in Brussels so I suppose that's close enough I guess?
>>81205649
>fellow Bay Area friend
Neat. East bay or actually SF?
Concord/mt.Diablo's shadow here.
We've been in nothing ever.
>>81221866
>not Los Angeles, occasionally SF, Route 66, or a mojave Air Force base
No.
I don't like it, but no.
>>81195209
Wow that looks awful. That bottom right corner. They look like sqeued sprites.
I'm from Toronto, so Scott Pilgrim and the occasional Alpha Flight story.
>>81195209
Apparently, I live in Latveria now. Sweet...Piedmont, Italy
Central City is the closest thing I can think of.
>>81224197
Of course I end up forgetting the pic...
Firebreather, a 3d animated movie on Cartoon Network about some guy who was the son of a demon or something had the main character live in my same hometown (Glendale, California) and even went to the same high school me and my family went to, Hebert Hoover High School. I literally can walk there from my house to Hoover in ten minutes. I know that the movie is based on a comic, but I have never read it so I can't say anything about it.
The way the school was portrayed looked nothing like Hoover. Greater Los Angeles maybe a desert, but Hoover is in the middle of the suburbs, nowhere near badlands, deserts, or mountains. The mountains that do exist far away have houses littered across them. No-one calls Hoover by the HHH initialism. The colors of the school are purple and gray, not blue and yellow, and the school symbol/mascot is a tornado, not a knight. The complex is pretty old, so there's lots of cement and very little non-cement tiles, large indoor areas, or rooms with lots of glass. There's also no weird rooftop thingies over all the walkplaces. The place doesn't have an outdoor basketball court, and the library is a square room that's a little over twice the size of a normal classroom.

Suburban Melbourne, Australia
>>81201449
They go there in an episode of Archer, it's portrayed as a redneck shithole.
>>81195209
Ottawa's never based in a cartoon like ever.
;_;
>>81216481

>I can't think of anything set in Buffalo.
Spain Rodriguez comics often takes place in Buffalo in the 50's and 60's cause that's where he grew up.
>>81229208
Joseph Remnant's art in that one is top notch t b h f a m.
>>81207531
We got Hub city. Although that's more East St Louis.
I don't know about the actual place, but the only superheroes I know of from North Carolina are Butterball and Blindfold.
>>81201449
There was a Mouse Works cartoon that took place in WV. There was also that episode of Time Squad that dealt with the Hatfields and McCoys.
Pretty sure the only time Glasgow's appeared in comics is inthe real world anyway: Morrison's Animal ManMy hometown of Edinburgh's in fuckin nothing despite being the capital of a 1st world nation
>>81230630
What do you mean by "the real world"? Don Rosa's Scrooge McDuck comics takes place in Glasgow in several stories since Scrooge is from Glasgow.
Also Beetlejuice.
>>81229208
This and Howard the Duck are the only two things I can think of besides really small indie stuff.
>>81230971Animal Man gets dragged into the real world and meets his writer, it's not technically within the DC universe.
They filmed The Dark Knight and Man of Steel in Chicago if that counts.
I also live five minutes away from the church from Home Alone and Cameron's house from Ferris Bueller. So that's something.
>>81199894
Butterball is from Morganton, that's as close as you'll probably get.
>>81206900
Gotham is Chicago, Hub City is Detroit.
>>81212119
yeah, another person from milwaukee
anyways, there's not really anything from milwaukee, beside what you said
closest thing would be Vlad from danny phantom, who is from wisconsin
>>81227613
Ottawa had one of the greatest Canadian shows of all time though. It crafted the majority of Nickelodeon's station identity.

I'm claiming Not Detroit (Cleveland). At least we made superman.
Because otherwise, Caracas, Venezuela where I'm actually from is non-existent, and the only instance I can think of Orlando, where I currently live, is from that God Awful Yellow Pill movie.
>>81228143
Tasmania also gets shown a lot thanks to the Looney Tunes character
>>81231105
There was also the regular American Splendor comics and a Halo graphic novel story that took place there and just about any original work by Bendis is set there such as Torso.
Detroit is lousy with super heroes.
I'm pretty sure Vibe grew up in Detroit.
Apparently, the first African American costumed hero was from Detroit: Amazing Man. That's cool.
Then there was Justice League Detroit.
Vixen and Deathlok are from Detroit, too.
Apparently, there's a good number of villains from here, also.
>>81231188
According to Denny O'neil , Hub City is East St. Louis.
