Can I ask you something about bane?
Why is he wearing Nash's uniform from street fighter?
>>
>>81189477
Arkham Asylum Bane is why.
>>
>>81189477
you didn't ask why he's wearing the mask.....

I mean that mask in particular

I'm a bit surprised I didn't like The Lego Movie, not sure the general /co/nsensus on it but I love the look of this.

The only bad guy not there, really, is The Joker.

Mentioning Marvel is like the DC fanboy version of Godwin's law

Genuine hype.

What did you like about it? It got a generally good reception on /co/.

Surprised AND amused.

How come LEGO is the perfect medium for making things fun again, I wonder.
The Nolan Batman films weren't fun. BvS definitely isn't fun. It feels like superheroes in general aren't allowed to be fun any more, it's all grimdark and shit.

Normally you'd think they could just make a parody movie lampooning that, but that would feel cheap and in bad taste. But this looks phenomenal.
>>
While I am disappointed that Phil and Chris aren't involved with this movie as well as the Lego Movie sequel, I'm still incredibly optimistic about this movie

>Nolan Batman films weren't fun
I don't know, I enjoyed a lot of things in the Nolan films. The Bat-vehicle sections were usually good for solid, tech action fun. (As an anecdote, I went to see TDK early in its run so the theaters were still packed with the kind of people who give large audience reactions to movies. The Batpod doing the 180 up the wall got the biggest cheer, and it was a pretty slick moment).

>It feels like superheroes in general aren't allowed to be fun any more, it's all grimdark and shit
Well that's definitely not true. There have been plenty of "fun" superheroes, both in film, television, and comics recently. Maybe not the last two DC films, but else it's still, if not more present, than it was years previously.
>>
>>81190369
Nolan films are fun as fuck compared to the depressing bore that is BvS.

>Accomplice? I'm going to tell them the whole thing was your idea.
>>
>>81190466
They're still writing the Lego Movie Sequel. Just not directing it.
>>
>>81190537
I think anon was saying that it's too bad they're not involved with this movie like they are in the Lego Movie sequel. "As well as" can mean either thing here.

All glory to the English language.
>>
>>81190574
Oh, true. Apologies, then.

I still really wanna see this. The writer's not my cup of tea but the director was crucial on the original Lego Movie (and fucking Moral Orel) so I'm pumped.
>>
Looks real good, except for that hip hop song towards the end.
>>
>>81190533
Both universes have same amount of jokes, delivered by Alfred in both
>>
>>81190944
I just said a joke delivered by Bruce.

Also BvS has one real joke and it's delivered at the worst time possible.

>Baneposting will never die
>>
>>81190369
What? Nolan films are super fun.

They are dark in tone, not in content
>>
>>81189246
That actually looks really good.
It could be fun.
>>
>>81189246
This is my only problem with licensed lego pieces. For years lego people were all the same except for their colors and maybe hair or hat.

Now we have big guys like Bane and the Hulk that demand completely unique pieces in order to work.
>>
>>81191312
I think it's fine, They had lines of toys like bionicle where it was a mixture of curves and edges so I'm sure they were okay with making a custom models for bane and hulk especially when the prior bane was just a small model body with the bane look.
>>
>>81191673
The bionicle guys could still swap arms with each other and stuff. They were more in line with the standard minifig style than Bane is.
>>
>>81190217
Marvel sucks. DC also sucks. I'm not particularly interested in which one sucks more, I just want them both to die, at least in their current forms.
>>
>>81190294
He probably didn't like it BECAUSE it got a generally good reception on /co/.
>>
>>81191871
Edgy.
>>
>>81191312
Pedant that I am, I'll point out that the "bigfig" style of figure was actually introduced in Lego's 2007 Castle theme (a Lego-original theme) to represent large trolls. Licensed properties didn't adopt the bigfig design until the Star Wars Wampa of 2010, and then the Hulk in 2012.
>>
>>81190466
The Lego Movie 2 will be directed by the guy who did Scud the Disposable Assassin so I'm optimistic
>>
