Yeah I take what I can get and I'm kinda used to that as a yurifag honestly. With a few exceptions where yuri prevails in the fandoms.
One nice thing is that some writers and artists who started with them just in the background later create things with just the girls and that is nice. Even if it's piggybacking I appreciate the decent amount of content that is there.

Bill got built up to something bigger than he ended up being in peoples' minds. Acted kind of dumb.
Stan and Ford have their enmity established, but resolved too hastily at the last possible second.
Gideon had a similar last second about-face.
Pacifica gets a minor redemptive bit here and there, but the show doesn't capitalize on it.
The bubble and the circle were both kind of asspulls. At least the possibility of erasing Bill out of a host's head with the memory gun gets some hints in advance.
Dipper fucks up, questions himself, and grows as a person. Repeatedly. Mabel gets simultaneously too morally condoned and too gaggy. I'm not sure it bothered me as much as it did others, but I can see why it did bother others.
Episodes are mostly solid, but as a serial it doesn't hang together as well as it could.

Character arcs are the bread and butter of most serial shows. Appealing characters draw audiences and character shifts don't complicate things for people who pop in for an episode like other ongoing plot structures do. Fucking up the pacing of a character arc by completely excising its logical middle or end is kind of shitty. Fucking the arcs of major characters (Stan, Mabel, Bill) is going to do more damage.
I didn't dislike the show. The fact that it got folks' hopes up speaks to the strength of its premise and early execution. But it's not hard to understand why people would be disappointed with the ending.

6. Dreamscraperer's- Great introduction to Bill, looking back through the inconsistency in Stan's childhood bothers me. Is it just me or did Tale of Two Stans establish that Stanley was always a tough guy, without the awkward pimply weakling phase shown in this episode.
5. Dipper and Mabel vs. The Future- I'm not triggered by Mabel in this at all, I thought the dilemma of wanting to/dreading growing up between the twins was great tension. Good lead into the finale, even if the three parter was so-so
4. Blendin's Game- everything about the far future in GF is great, and I loved Soos's backstory.
3. Northwest Mystery Manor- Lumberjack ghost is hands down best villain in the series. I also liked Dipper's confidence on display in this episode along with the obvious shipperbait
2. Into the Bunker- god tier Wendy/Dipper interaction.

What the fuck can I say about this episode? It's absolutely masterful, from start to finish, I wouldn't change a thing.
>2. Dipper and Mabel vs the Future
The whole contrast of best/worst day ever is really well done, you get them Mabel feels in all her scenes, and the Dipper/Ford dynamic is really well written. Best credit scene in the show too, prize worthy and shit
>3. Northwest Mansion Mystery
Legitimately fun episode, great character development with Pacifica and that ghost lumberjack was fucking based. I'm not even a shipper and I find this episode freaking fantastic.
>4. The Legend of the Gobblewonker
Gotta reserve at least one spot to a season 1 episode, and I believe this one embraces exactly what that whole season is about. It has funny moments, it has mysterious and spooky moments and, most importantly, it focuses on the characters and their relationship. That photos montage in the end is one of this shows best moments.
The music is amazing too.
>5. Scary-Oke
What a fucking way to kick off season two. This entire episode is amazing, from cold open to credits, it doesn't let you down for a second. The whole zombie 'fight' is incredible, and ending it off with Taking Over Midnight, awesome.
And it has a fucking ton of canon implications, with Stan revealing his knowledge about GF weirdness, the black light and the agents discovering that GF is something to seriously keep an eye on.
>6. Sock Opera
This one is probably the most difficult to rank. It could easily be WM1, WM3, Into the Bunker, Tourist Trapped, Summerween, Dreamscaperers and others. But ultimately, I think Sock Opera is a tier above. Bill at his absolute finest in this episode.

I always feel that way about juggernauts but I don't have an issue with this one and the shippers seem nice so I guess it's cool, I've been in fandoms where the juggernaut shippers are real assholes who can't stand the thought of someone not loving their ship and that doesn't happen in GF, the assholes are the antis.

I wouldn't be surprised if he worshiped him in some point of their relationship (that must've lasted a few years), with all these Bill walls in the second floor and all that. Well Bill was a pretty popular character with both genders and I don't know if there was a deep reason. In the beginning the wheel with him in the credits was a Chekov's Gun thing, we called him ACE (All C-ing Eye) because we didn't know his name and there were human versions of him even then, basically people were curious and it was a mystery. And then with the codes and stuff being dropped. So that had a lot to do with the character becoming popular. And I think things kind of snowball from there, then you have lots of comics, fan art, stories about the character and it's not so much about the character on the show any more but the fans' creations.
