If you present the audience with something (sword slices easily through bad guy), you need to be consistent about that. Pumping the batmobiles tires has no relevance to what i'm saying as that is about nitpicking over in universe logic. Snyder showed us how wonder woman could kill doomsday, then just took it as gospel that the only way he could ACTUALLY be killed was by supermans sacrifice. It's stupid. It isn't stupid because of some in universe logic, it is stupid because the story presented us an alternative which it chose to ignore completely for dramatic purposes despite that alternative being put before the audience about a minute or two before the resolution.

Zod and Faora are both products of the Kryptonian bio-engineering shit, unlike Kal-El, who's the first natural birth in centuries.
Each engineered Kryptonian is genetically programmed to carry out a specific task, so for somebody like Jor-El that would mean using science to help the future of Krypton. For Zod/Faora, that means defending its future with every fiber of their being or, in the event it's destroyed, avenging it.
Zod says as much in Man of Steel, that's why he doesn't stop lasering innocents or blowing up the city, he was born specifically for that task and he'll die for it before he can be stopped. Reproduction wouldn't even cross either of their minds.
