Is Midnighter the best hand-to-hand fighter in the DC Universe now?
>>
He's enhanced, doesn't count.
>>
Well, with Shiva getting shot in the ass these days and Connor not existing he might be a contender.
>>
>>81084676
This

Batman might be the best now, though, only because Snyder effectively made his body young again.
>>
>>81084720
>Karate Kid
>>
>>81084613
no, still superman

>>81084676
that's idiotic
>>
>>81084781
Shut up
>>
Putting Midnighter against other street level martial arts heroes is not very fair though.

He has a precognition computer, enhanced strength, enhanced speed, enhanced reflexes, healing factor, durability, control over his pain receptors etc. Of course he's going to wreck pretty much everyone in a fight.
>>
>>81084613
Wonder Woman
>>
>>81084830

He just took on twelve Orphans when no one else could handle one. Sure that series is shit but he is superpowered. It's hard to compare him to Cass or Lady Shiva. In the current universe it is probably Richard Dragon. Cass in the old one. Karate Kid in the future.
>>
>>81084781
It's pretty fair considering Midnighter wins by cheating.
>super advanced fight computer that predicts every possible outcome.
>super fast reflexes
>kevlar skin and carbon fiber muscles
>doesn't feel pain
>>
>>81085418
Yeah. If you take away all his enhancements I don't doubt that he's still one of the best fighters in DC, but I think skill-wise there are more refined fighters.

It's hard to make a list of "best fighters" when some of them are enhanced or have superpowers. If you want to be fair, you'd need to make a separate list, one for the normal people and one for the enhanced/superpowered ones.
>>
>>81085570

Midnighter is still pretty strong though. I hope he continues to be Dick's attack dog.
>>
>>81085570
Midnighter is also one of those characters with powers that put him somewhere between street level and superhuman, if that makes sense.

Realistically he could take on everyone that doesn't have any powers and even some that have powers, but he's still not Superman/Wonder Woman etc tier. It's why he works in a more grounded setting like his current run or in Grayson, but he also fits very well in a team like The Authority without being useless or feeling like he's out of place.
>>
>>81085740
In the Wildstorm Authority he was pretty much straight up massively superhuman though.
>>
>>81085740
That's really not true at all. Here I will storytime him absolutely skull fucking a rampaging demon.
In the Authority he is extremely powerful, mowing down those Superman lite Asian dudes who attacked London

>>81085913
>>
>>81085926
>>
>>81085843
It's been some time since I've read the Authority, but yeah everyone is highly overpowered there. I don't even know how I'd rank them power wise.

The Doctor is obviously the strongest one, but then it depends on the situation. I remember there's that story where he almost kills all of The Authority while possesed and I think he managed to kill Hawksmoor in the Revolution arc in the future that never came to be.

You guys remember that captain atom mini where he ended up in wildstorm and rekt everyone's shit?
>>
>>81086006
According to this, he'd be able to kill Jack though. It's hard to tell really, they're all very powerful.
>>
>>81086147
Well if Jack isn't in a city he's fucked, and the smaller the city the weaker he is.
I was talking about his power level when he's in Manhattan or Beijing.
>>
>>81086096
Yea, he became an interdimensional warlord after that didn't he?
>>
>>81086207
Then he lost his powers and got captured by an evil sorceress.
>>
>>81086186
Yeah true, depends on the situation. Jack has the power set that allows him to be really overpowered in certain setting and then really weak if you get him away from the city.

Anon, I

I could kick Jacks ass I think.

Jenny killed God.

Checkmate anon.
>>
>>81086264
Jenny could house Apollo, we've literally seen that hitting him with lightning depowers him
>>
>>81086147
I can believe that. Jack's not all that aggro.

Really I was going on the idea that the guy who ran the alternate London beat the shit out of Middy and then Jack proceeded to one shot the bastard

Captain Atom has a weird life.
>>
>>81086291
>>81086305
In 1v1 maybe. In terms of overall power I think Apollo has more. Am I the only one who wants to see all the Authority characters become supporting characters to established DC capes, like Midnighter has to the Bat family? Jenny could sit with Captain Marvel in a weird mystic British thing, with a reverse-Shazam effect where she switched between adult powerful Jenny Sparks and child godlike Jenny Quantum.
>>
>>81086420
>Ray and Apollo won't team up and have a ward/mentor type thing going
>>
>>81086350
Ennis once wrote a story where one of the Doctors turned evil and, when fighting somebody, traveled back in time to their past to molest them as a child.
>>
>>81086400
I did, but I read the wiki on the characters before checking it out.

Also, Ellis Stormwatch > Ellis The Authority. Am I alone in preffering the first?

Last time Karate Kid and Batman threw down, Batman won and claimed that Superman must've marked his files wrong.
>>
>>81086420
I'd fucking love that, I really like how they integrated Midnighter in the wider DCU.

If they managed to do that with more Wildstorm characters I'd be extatic. However, I fear that the failing of his solo will discourage DC from giving other Wildstorm chars a chance. I want more Jack Hawksmoor man.
>>
>>81086529
Last time they threw down, Karate Kid had Bruce almost out of the fight in a couple of seconds until Black Lightning blasted him.
>>
>>81086529
Because Black Lightning sucker punched him from behind with lightning. Batman was getting his ass beat prior to that.
>>
>>81086420
No, Jenny had the power to straight up ice god
>>
>>81086467
I prefer Stormwatch as well, but the Authority is definitely a sleeker and more impressive comic
Winter is one of my favorite characters and I hope they bring him back soon
>>
>>81086918
Winter was my favorite, I was crushed when he got killed at the end of Vol 2.

I feel like nothing in The Authority can compare to the Change or Die arc in Stormwatch. Bendix was such an amazing villain.

Also, the issue where they show Jenny through the century is one of my favorites ever.

The Authority is the perfect team book storytelling style, short stories with wild comic book plots very similar to Morrison JLA, Stormwatch is much more of a great "run" style of story.
They're different, and good for different reasons
>>
>>81084830
And yet he jobbed so many times despite all of that shit.
>>
>>81086529
Batgod faggotry is v powerful.
>>
>>81091499
Well it's comic books after all, sometimes characters job to make other ones look better. Realistically though, he should beat pretty much any non-enhanced martial artist.
