Are you implying that Tara Strong somehow has more "ability" than any of the current VAs? Sure, they don't sound the same but the quality of their acting is the same.
I don't see why Tara Strong is so praised when she's the epitomy of a meme voice actress. She's good but there's nothing exceptional about her.

They brought back much of the older voice actors for the show except the main 3. That says to me it was either a marketing decision, or because they didn't want to pay as much money.
Neither of these things are big deals for me, actually. They reflect market reality, and I'm a realist. What makes it a problem is what this show presents itself to be. You can't have a show that on one hand claims to be a progressive girl show, but behind the scenes engage in actions that can be construed as sexist, ageist, and pushing wages down at the expense of experienced women.
The only way things could be more absurd is if those social justice groups so keen on finding injustice in every little thing, choose to turn a blind eye to this.
