The thing that weirded me out the most by all this was how out of time everyone was:

It was Avatar without the blue people, throw in some Star Wars prequels, and ended with a bunch of dildo missile pods firing into the spread legs of a 'mother ship' right as the world blew up.
I did like the idea of technology based on those tiny balls, but I realized how terrible that would be in practice. Imagine no color, grainy spherical texture to every image, and a thousand other issues that would come up with it.

Not really, he hated Superman for being adored and treated like a God for doing good out of benevolence, which he thinks is a sham. Darkseid is entirely upfront about being an evil motherfucker. Lex has never shied away from alliances like that, and we don't really know anything what the deal with that exactly was.
