People complaining about critics mentioning that the movie was "no fun" and comparing it to the Nolan trilogy really downplay how silly, sarcastic and enjoyable were the Nolan ones. They weren't completely joyless.
Batman Begins had a couple of dumb moments in it (for example Gordon in the Batmobile or when Batman headbutts a guy after screaming I'M BATMAN), and in general many characters were sarcastic and cracking jokes at times, they were human. Sure, they were more serious and realistic but it also was aware that a guy in a batsuit beating up a guy in clown makeup ain't exactly the grimmest thing ever.
Meanwhile, Snyder's Man of Steel was almost always at the verge of tears and it tried to make up with the action scenes which are of course Snyder's forte.

It makes perfect sense, you don't have the perspective of an executive or shareholder of a company. They do not watch these films for quality, as long as it looks semi-competent (and say what you will about Zach Snyders directing he knows how to make a film look intriguing visually at the very least) and it makes money that's all that matters, film quality isn't important when it comes to the short term goal of making money. They're not really focused on accolades because they really aren't that great, remember when The Dark Knight was getting pushed all over and Heath Ledgers Joker was super popular that the film never saw one Oscar. Around me, they range anywhere from 4usd to 12usd, for IMAX and such.
So while it's clear the film is shit, we still don't know what KIND of shit it is.
Is it a clean shit or a wet shit? Or a second wave shit when you think you're done and you realize there's still more? Or is it a lincoln log shit, the kind that's too big that you have to break it up into smaller pieces before you can flush it? Or a "Gee, I really wish I could shit." shit, the kind where you feel like you really have to go but no matter how much you strain you just can't get the shit out. Maybe it's a groaner, the kind that can't come out without some vocal assistance. Or a floater, the kind that tends to resurface despite repeated flushings? Perhaps it's a spinal tap shit, the kind that hurts so bad that you'd swear it was coming out sideways. Or maybe it's a "Gee I think I'm turning into a bunny" shit, when you drop lots of cute, little round ones that look like marbles and make tiny splashing sounds when they hit the water.
This is a very important question and merits some serious deliberation.
