Well combat schools use real weapons (including kids making their own) but don't fight actual Grimm. And considering that Beacon is supposed to take in students around age 17, it's probable that combat schools run from around age 10-13 to 17.
Before all that, the kids would probably need to start basic weapon and combat training, not to mention a basic understanding of Dust, Aura, etc., at an even younger age. Maybe not pre-school, but I could imagine elementary schools that act as feeders for the combat schools and hunter academies.

Dude i recently found this, it's simple, but it helped me draw expressions, my drawings have always been emotion-less, well, hopefully not anymore.
And proportions are fine, you must know how hard it is to make sense of what you're drawing when the bodies are touching and so on, i say don't be too harsh with yourself. What i recommend is figure drawing, it's quite enjoyable, it's a little more free and fluid, it will make your strokes come easier and understand these bendy shapes.

I mean I support the direction of Grimm Pyrrha, but this is a horrible presentation of the idea.
Instead of going for some cliche "I know you're on there!" and almost-killing-but-never-actually-hurts-anyone-when-she-gets-close thing, why not have some legitimate internal conflict.
I'm not about to start suggesting shit, I don't claim to know what presentation the show should go for, but if they do go for Grimm Pyrrha I can guarantee that it would be a mistake to use an over done plot just to get her back without any repercussions.
