Alternates between really good and really goofy, but entertaining all the same. Animation is reused a lot (Filmation was a cheapskate studio), but you get used to it.

Giffen's run on the previous series was a bit quip-heavy but better written overall imo.
I love it. It's awfully cheesy, gets really stupid at times, but I absolutely love it.

Not even close. Giffen didn't develop the characters, and he just make fun of them, and he turn every one to an unlikable asshole. Dan did justice to the franchise and the Eternity War was one of the best stories ever.
House of Shokoti parts 1 and 2 are the best episodes, and surprisingly dark for the series.

I believe that there is a mini comic back at the 80's, pubblished more or less the same period with the cartoon, named "The Story of Keldor", wher it was for the first time hinted that Skeletor was Randor's brother. Then with the 200X cartoon this story was picked up again as the official Skeletor's origin.

Skeletor is the most complicated and charismatic character, and making him goofy was the worst part of the old cartoon. Skeletor in the mini comics and his action figure was called the Lord of Destruction. Skeletor is the real threat. Hordak is just an old and tired conqueror.
