To be fair, IIF is a great comic and introduced a lot of good shit like the previous IFs, the Immortal Weapons, etc. I don't think every comic should just be IIF over and over, but at the very least I'd rather have his characterisation be consistent with that rather than what we're currently getting in PM+IF, which is a manchild in sneakers. Wasn't the concept of Iron Fist being legacy mantle dropped in the '90's series? I think I remember something about Davos absorbing past Iron Fists' power. Little heads were drawn to the side of him, they were all blonde, funnily enough. I'm glad they changed that when Fraction/Brubaker gave past Iron Fists an issue exploring their story. They're all, bar Orson, obviously Asian.

He has a sense of humour, and he's flippant, but he also takes his "duty" as the Iron Fist seriously and you get the sense he'd do anything to protect K'un-L'un. When Randall dies, it's pretty clear that if the fight with Davos wasn't interrupted he'd have fought until one of them was dead, which I like, because to me it shows that there's part of him that's not above seeking revenge, which I think is good since that's why he originally left the heavenly city and came back to New York. He's a martial arts movie hero, he can be kind and honourable and just but he'll also beat the ever-living shit out of an enemy if they wrong him

I thought Danny was fine in the first issue. I loved the part where he is just sitting in tombstones office not saying anything, then it all goes to shit and he blames luke.
The second issue did make him a bit too much of a goofball, but he's just really happy to be with his friend again having fun. It sucks when your buddies get married and refuse to do the fun stuff you used to do together.
This book seems like it shows luke growing up and actually trying to start a life and danny is more trying to live out his childhood he never got. Maybe a direct result from TLW, so much bad stuff happened that he's trying to make things carefree and happy.

I am a huge IF fan, this book is very bothersome to me because I like when Danny isn't so quippy. He is pretty much straight-up retarded in this book. I personally enjoy how he was in the Byrne/Claremont run, he was tough, didn't always make the right decision and could joke but he wasn't always joking, then again I really think that the 70s were a great time for comics and that his personality was done well in IIF as well
