I can see why dogs are banned in restaurants for health reasons concerning sanitation (though it's sort of a double standard that infants or toddlers are never banned from anywhere with the same logic), but it kind of rubs me the wrong way when I see the argument "some people are allergic" for banning pets from public areas, particularly things like public transit.
