I love the French voice actors, and haven't listened to the English dub. It's not a dealbreaker, but the cast of Wakfu sounds like the French VA to me, and it'd be weird hearing it from another voice.

Way too obnoxious. The perfect mix of smugness, happiness, and unwillingness to adapt to others. The french VA doesn't help.
I also think that the fact that almost everyone in Wakfu besides Adamai is pretty relatable creates a backslash towards him. You're chilling in your sofa, watching the cartoon and bonding with the characters, and then this annoying little shit comes on the screen.
He was right, though, but he was a total cunt about it.
And to make it worse, he didn't have a big solo moment to develop his character (apart from "My brother betrayed me, boohoo, time to do a 180° on my ideology"). It's sad, I think that with better lines he could have been way more likeable, since he's not a bad archetype.
