The Legend of Sarila was actually released BEFORE Frozen.

It's not the movie's fault their shitty American distribution company decided to rename that shit for the home video market in hopes of cashing in on Frozen's success

Yeah, they pull that kind of shit sometimes with less-known movies that aren't as marketable as Disney stuff. Like how "Super K - the Movie" got renamed into "Kiara the Brave" and had the not-very-important girl character in the cover, to make people confuse the movie for Pixar's Brave.

"Help! I'm a fish" had a pretty unfortunate case of this happen to it too. They decided to rather make it look like a crappy cheap ripoff of Shark Tale or Finding Nemo, instead of trying to sell the movie on its own merits. Kinda sad if it does genuinely sell better under a disguise of a ripoff movie.
>>
>>80960094

It's a pretty original film if you actually see it though. It's just American distributors being jewish.

Meanwhile in Brazil though...
>>
When can we expect Zootopia's knockoff? Did Big Hero 6 get one? I know Disney won the Frozen World lawsuit, so maybe companies are giving up.
>>
>>80960682
Yeh. I don't know how I'd feel about that.

At first, it'd be like "yes, a US company got interested, the movie has a distributor in the US market! Woo!" and then you'd see that they'd just gone and renamed the movie and also turned your original movie based on an Inuit legend into a cheap-ass knockoff of a Disney movie that came out nearly a year after yours through imitating it with the title and the new cover and go "…oh".

That's gotta sting, dude.

This outright disgusts me, and it disgusts me even more when it's done for films that are perfectly fine and even good by the marketers.

But what disgusts me the most is it probably works. Retards who think they're picking up some film that's popular (but might itself suck) in the supermarket probably generate more cash then people looking for something decent. Fuck, I would market things this way if I was a marketer, you've got to make a living. Audiences and consumers are shit and all-around idiots.

Sense of right alliance film when?
>>
This thread makes me sad.
I feel bad for the people who worked and spent their time and talent to make these shitty movies.

Half the thread is original films rebranded into ripoffs, though. Which is probably even worse when you think about it.

>The US version made changes to the film such as interpreting the small red panda, Mimi, as a cat

yikes
>>
>>80964968
Well, at least the poor kid who ends up with dvd will end up seeing a surprisingly good film.
>>
>>80985906
The actual Digimon movie is decent, but the added stuff for the international release buries it in a pile of shit
>>
>>80986238
The problem really was smashing 2 seasons together and suddenly time jumps. It should have either been a 2 part film or shorter. Man, Fox Kids used to milk Digimon like it was its pride and joy.

I actually forgot that the movie Planes exists.
