The cocky, more smug Superman isn't a totallyalienportrayal.
The kind of Superman that would be kind of a smug asshole to mere mortals that dared inconvenience him in the most minor ways was pretty much how he acted in his early years of publication(hell, look at Action Comics #1), and wasn't afraid to style on some niggas just because he could.
And this early portrayal was reconciled with his modern post-Crisis incarnation to create the New 52 version of Clark Kent, who while noble and dedicated to heroic ideals instilled in him by his human parents, wasn't afraid to be a little playfully arrogant.
Of course, given that we don't have Action Comics in the movie and instead we're just introduced to this version of Superman with no context beyond he's fucking Superman, and the general weakness of the script and source material, he's just gonna come off as an asshole who likes teasing Batman and flirting with Wonder Woman.
