Storytiming Blue Beetle vol4 1-4 back-up stories with The Question, Blue Beetle 5 as a whole and then Mysterious Suspense 1.
The quality of the scans suck, but I didn't find any better.
This reminds me of the Vulture.
Just like Mr. A, vic Sage acts heroic with and without his mask. This was a theme that will be expanded in Mysterious Suspense 1.
After this, Banshee was stranded on a remote Island for seven years before enacting his revenge.

But that story wasn't written by Ditko, so we won't see it here.
This exact same scene happened also in Mr. A.
Both the plot and art get better, in my opinion, from here.
This is the comics code -authorized version of Mr. A letting Angel fall to his death.
The Question appears in the Blue Beetle story, so I'll do the whole issue.
I wonder what Ditko thinks about modern art.
Just as in Amazing Spider-Man, Ditko shows his disdain for hippies.
>Hippies get out!
>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I quess this is an analogy for the effects of self-confidence.
Is Boris Ebar a wordplay or an allusion of some kind?
It seems we are slipping downwards in the catalog. If you want to bumb, don't do it for me, don't do it for your fellow readers, do it in the name of your rational self-interest.
Don't call it a grave Anon, it's the future you chose.
This is, in my opinion, the best Question story.
But first an essay about Ditko.

am I bad at reading? has he explained why he wears a creepy faceless mask yet?
>>80924906
>has he explained why he wears a creepy faceless mask yet?
I have no idea.
Also thanks for bumbing.
This is a somewhat iconic page.

Thank you for your attention.
If there is an audience, I could later storytime some of Ditkos Mr. A for comparison.

I take the silence as a no then.

Bump of thanks. I won't get to these until much later, but I amlooking forward to reading them.

Please storytime. I've never experienced Mr. A before and I want to see just how soapbox it can be that even Alan Moore thought it was silly.
>>80924961
y-you too...

Do it. Would be fun.

As you wish. I'll start with the first Mr. A story from 1967.
I think The Question is a better character on paper, but Mr. A has just so much more energy and pathos in his stories. It may be for the quality of the scans or coloring, but it seems to me that Ditko put more love and detail to Mr. A when compared for example to Blue Beetle.
In here Mr. A says what was implied in here>>80924077
>I have no mercy or compassion for aggressors...only for their victims, the innocent
>le garbage-man maymay
Compare this page to these>>80923886

I believe this was the story that Moore used for Rorschachs origin.
The question Moore asked was: "what if Mr. A had failed and the girl died?" His answer was Rorschach. As we saw earlier with the "Our man" -story in BB, this kind of questioning is unthinkable to Ditko. Good must always triumph over evil, because heroes are the examples to which we must strive.

Also notice the dialogue between Mr. A and the girl:
>Theyre calling! Will you help them?
>No!
This is a terrific illustration.

Well that was a trip!
What fun.
We have room for one more story.
Ditkos opinion of gentleman thieves is obvious
Criticizing the U.N. was a reappering point >>80924911
>wow
>so killer
>much criminal
>rekt
Expect for Death vs Love-song (a silent 10-page Mr. A story), I have storytimed all the Mr. A and Ditkos Question stories that I have in my possession. If someone has more, please share.
Besides the B&W Charlton Bullseye story, were there any other pre-DC Question stories?
>>80936892
Americomics Special #1 and Charlton Bullseye v.2 #1 featured Question.
>>80936892
IIRC when the Charlton heroes were briefly licensed out before being bought by DC, there were two Question stories printed: one had him and Blue Beetle teaming up in a revived color comic version of Charlton Bullseye and another was a one-off supergroup with other public domain heroes
