honestly the right is the objective best for comics. While the left is good for every other bat medium. I tried playing his blue suit in the new game and it looked so trash. I mean I'm not sure if they tried, but I feel like if I was reading AK as a comic and he was in the blue and grey I wouldn't have had as much as a problem.

When given a practical application, it's because the heaviest armor plating will go on your torso. Obviously you want to avoid being shot at, but if you're going to get shot, those plates are most likely to stop it.
The yellow oval tricks your eyes by looking like a bullseye, so you're more likely to aim there. Imagine you're in a dark room shooting Batman, for example. Most of his outfit is going to be a blur of gray and black/blue, but if you catch a glint of yellow, you'll say to yourself, that's his center of mass, I should aim there. The black symbol also does this, but pops less than yellow.

Left works better as a vigilante/street level Batsuit. When he's taking down crime bosses or stalking a mugger in Gotham, that's what he should be wearing.
If he's making official appearances, participating in Justice League missions, or doing anything public, should be the right.
