These are not what I would describe as Clark Kent clothes.
>>
>>80891904
He's in Times Square though. They're so many people running around it's hard to focus on just some random person
>>
still doesn't top this one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0D8V0dCbf8
>>
>>80891950
He is just Henry Cavill.

It's all different situation if you plant Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Jeniffer Lawrence, Tom Brady or even Stephen Curry smack dab in the middle of Times Square
>>
>>80891950
THE PERFECT DISGUISE
I MEAN WHY WOULD SUPERMAN WALK AROUND IN A SUPERMAN T-SHIRT
>>
I don't think I would recognize him on the street honestly.
>>

>People of Times Square don't even recognize the guy on the ad behind them

What will DC do?
>>
>>80892134
yeah I'm really bad at that, I've been out and passed athletes and famous actors before without noticing them and only knew it because one of my friends was like HOLY SHIT THAT'S ____
>>
That's fucking stupid.

It's the middle of Times Square where people aren't concerned enough to stop and look at some random stranger or notice most other things. That and there are nuts who dress up all the time and people have learned to just ignore them and keep walking at this point.
>>
>>80892134
Not if we didn't make direct eye contact, probably not.

Ergo, Clark is the perfect disguise.
>>
So? No one recognizes me on the street and I'm Wonder Woman.
>>
>>80891904
Well he (and arguably Superman himself) is good looking but in the generic way.

Tom Cruise for instance has a more unique face

Why didn't they recogmize him

>Clark Kent is such a shit desguise for Supes, guys
>Why can't anyone recognize that Clark is Supes

That's perfect though.

You're not suppose to recognize Clark as Superman
>>
I'd look down at the ground if I saw a man like that on the street
>>
>>80892700

That's true

he's giving a school shooter-like gaze
>>
>>80892071
You would be wrong. Tom Cruise once posed as a UPS deliveryman in no make up for a full day and no one recognized him. People don't expect to see celebrities in normal clothes doing normal things, so they can get over looked easily.

http://www.starwipe.com/article/busy-new-yorkers-fail-take-time-out-day-coddle-hen-2306

>In a hilarious new video posted to his Instagram account, Batman V. Superman star Henry Cavill shows himself going completely unnoticed while wearing a Superman shirt in Times Square, as numerous busy New Yorkers with jobs and responsibilities neglect to take time out of their day to coddle his ego

i love this fucking article
>>
>>80893009
>The montage of snapshots shows Cavill in various locations around Times Square—including standing next to a giant billboard for his own upcoming movie—and was ostensibly presented as proof that Superman’s dubious disguise of wearing glasses would be more than enough to fool people in real life. Though, of course, it could just as easily be proof that residents of the second-biggest city in the world didn’t make it to New York by dropping everything to take a selfie with any emotionally needy Hollywood star they happen to pass on the street

>You can check out the video for yourself below, along with Cavill’s smug grin that he apparently wears out of wry amusement, like all the people walking past him aren’t on their way to somewhere more important than talking to the fourth-best Superman
>>
>>80893009

To be fair he has that generic handsome white guy look, which works great for a character like Supes, but that doesn't mean he stands out in a crowd.
Also, has Cavill been in anything else that noteworthy? Dude's not exactly an A-lister.

>>
This would have been funny if he were in a blue suit with a red tie and horn-rimmed glasses. It would be even funnier if Charlie Cox was in the background wearing an "I'm not Daredevil" sweater and someone stopped to talk to him.

As-is, it's just kind of sad that his film made such a small impression on the general public that he can walk around with the S on and no one notices. I can't really imagine Evans, Hemsworth, Hiddleston, Downey, or even Christian Bale walking around in a T-shirt of their character without being noticed. Ron Perlman in a Hellboy shirt, maybe (because of all the make-up), but not Cavill in a Superman shirt.

Reminds me of the time I met Peter Steele from Type O Negative. He wanted to know if he was famous yet, so he got in line to buy tickets to his own show. After about five minutes of just standing in line, he started trying to bum a cigarette off of people and everyone realized who he was pretty quickly.

Even if he just shrugs it off, I bet this made Cavill pretty sad.
>>
He's not really a big name, recognized actor.
>>
>>80893490
He wasn't wearing a fake beard or anything.
>>
>>80895513
>He's not really a big name, recognized actor.

He's literally standing in front of giant posters with his face on them. You'd think people would at least double take thinking, "did I just see the guy who is on this huge poster just now?" But no.
>>
>>80895590
He probably also wasn't wearing a Top Gun t-shirt. Cavill is wearing the S.
>>
>>80895652
Does anybody really pay that much attention to the ads around them? Do you look at an ad and then quickly scan the crowd to look for celebrities?

He's not a popular actor, he's just in a popular series. He got the job because he as a muscular, half-decent actor who would work for scale.
>>
I think that has more to do with Henry Cavill not really being a true star yet even though he played Superman. I'm pretty sure Brandon Routh could walk around Midtown circa 2006 as well and no one would know or care who he was.
>>
>>80895652
It's New York City, there's fucking ads everywhere. Not to mention, there's a reason why actual stars like Taylor Swift or Denzel Washington can walk around that town and not get bothered and it;s because everyone has stuff to do and they're expected to be there.
>>
>>80895696
What about a top gun hat?
>>

Different thing. It was his own show. Make James Hetfield buy tickets for Madonna and no one will notice.

>>80891904

Chris Pratt did the same thing and no one knew who he was.

Humans are pretty shitty when it comes to know the faces of strangers.

I once saw George St. Pierre in a downtown parking lot in Albuquerque. I was sitting in the passenger seat, and my buddy driving is a huge GSP fan. saw the man, let him cross at the cross walk and kept driving. He felt like an idiot for not noticing. Point is most people have a one track mind, you don't notice a celebrity if you're busy.

Tourists are too busy looking at the sight sto notice who's around them.

New Yorkers usually always look down and don;t stare at people's faces (so as not to get "what 'ya lookin' at" from others).

Walk in San Francisco with your head down and they'll ask you "what's wrong?". They don't like folks using the GGBridge for bad stuff (unless it's movie destruction).
