Seems like sometimes even the fans downplay the plot progression and stuff that's been set up for the next season(s) when trying to sell it to others. After the first episode these changes were established:

True, the show doesn't go all-out with continuity porn, but I appreciated the slow-burn style of adding to the plot/characters/universe without really changing status quo until the very end.

Actually many people have praised that the show has actual continuity and doesnt just hit the reset status quo button all the time, theres a few things that get forgotten like Alfonzo marrying a fairy but aside that there's clear, if a bit subtle, continuity in the show.

The problem might be that we didn't expect the series to take any of those points as "serious". The pacing of the series has been pretty wild, so many expedted them to be more like "running gags" than actual plot point. It wasn't until the last bunch of episodes of the first seaon that people started to wonder how important were the stuff from back then. I expect the next season to play more with these elements, but hopefully it won't become so heavily plot oriented.

The square head of Janna is a trademark of the character, I admit it — but rounding her face a bit instantly makes her more feminine: I guess I can work on a compromise while "inking" my drawing, keeping the jawline from the first drawing but smoothing it just slightly.

Looks great again Cola, I have to say that the first one is how I mostly picture Janna's figure since I don't believe she really has that much in the way of curves, but that's all minor and I'm certainly not gonna argue over a more feminine looking Janna. Especially not how you've drawn her. The face perhaps should be a little more roundish square, but you've seem to have it down already and don't worry about it too much, her face can be tough but once you get a feel for the curve of it then it comes to you more easily.
All in all, I can't wait to see it finished.

Janna leads a very difficult life! Knowing her, though, I think Janna might have amped up the drama a little bit, just to get more sympathy from Marco; well, that's just my theory anyway, as I prefer to think of her as a crafty girl, rather than a really unlucky one!
Curiously enough, I too imagined "my" Janna to be living with the father alone:in my case though, he was a widower, and throughout her childhood Janna has spent whole days in company of her friends Jackie and Hope, so it wasn't as tragic — though she's developed quite a wild attitude because of the reduced parental supervision.
I hinted at Janna living only with her father back in the "Nudist Saga" (Well, it was a very vague hint, though…), but I have yet to develop that angle. …
