I got everything I wanted from a Sinestro's story, so there is no reason to extend it beyond its natural conclusion. 23 issues and an annual it's a pretty good run and this was the best Lantern book of the post-Johns era

I think part of it is that from what I have read of Bunn he is a bit prone to wordy narration, which suits a character like Sinestro in particular really well since he has a massive ego and would totally go on and on at length about himself, but it doesn't suit other characters at all
Also his plotting was pretty good in Sinestro and he came up with good support characters, something he lacks in other titles

When he started the book, the overall feeling around /co/ was to be cautious because the chances for it being shit was big, that started to change around issue 5 and look now, it's incredible, one of the most solid, fun and entertainment books in DC for like 2 straight years!
I don't know how or why, but I know it makes me see Bunn in a new light.

I love how good is this book at portraying sinestro, because he doesn't feel like dr. doom or lex luthor or any of those super-smart almost-mary-sue folks, yet he still gets his way on what's going around, really good characterization if i may say.

Well for starters, Mongul was always able to put up a fight to Green Lantern. He easily defeated him Pre-Crisis and held his own against him in Post. There is this one image that circles around a lot with Hal impaling Mongul around his body with spear constructs, but what people don't know is what followed shortly after. When Hal and Mongul continued there fight, Mongul was overwhelming Hal, fighting as if he didn't have gaping holes around his body. Hal had to BFR him. Mongul would then go on to gain several yellow rings. This would allow him to hold his own against 10 veteran GLs, and even dominate a fight with Sinestro before the fail safe was activated.
New52 Mongul seems a little more powerful than his Post-Crisis counterpart, so walking through Lanterns should be a given.

It is, however, in Pre-Crisis, Mongul had a lot of ablities, such as laser eyes, shooting blasts from his hands, teleportation, and telepathy. He was also far stronger than Superman.

Well yeah that was his biggest advantage, up until Hal gained the ability to damage anything yellow. Mongul Jr. was unaware of this and removed his own armor to face Hal, which lead to the image above with him getting impaled. After breaking free, Jr then started to take the fight seriously and Hal had to BFR him.
