I just noticed there is basically zero insulation in Steven's house. It must be unbearable in the summer and winter.

Comfy status: BUSTED.

Not sure about comfy, but living above your private office/corporate HQ/colossal vault is pretty convenient.
>>

yeah that's how a lot of beach/island housing is. you have to let the air flow through or you're asking for mold. It's also true of pacific housing, like japan and.. uh.. seattle.. they are also humid enough to have the possibility of mold issues but they have the secondary problem of earthquakes requiring structures to be flexible and flimsy.
these places never have really severe temperatures though. asians and old ladies crank up the heat certainly, but.. they don't have AC in places like this. they think they don't need it. of course they do, but not as badly as in the continental climate zones where you can fucking die without it

I always wanted a room like Arnold's growing up. That glass ceiling must have been amazing. Only real downside is it's kinda small.

that looks.. problematic
uh well, rebecca and molly lived in a pretty posh apartment, but it rarely showed up. what we typically saw was the business she owned that baloo worked for, higher for hire, and baloo living in it like the bum he is.. just kinda stringing up a hammock in a storeroom. cozy it aint

Ritchie's one was too big for my tastes.

now as disney hammocks go, this is tops. sleeping in a big pile of clothes. granted the house looks like the sort of really unpleasant kind of old-farmhouse-shack style of house, and.. it being the middle of buttfuck nowhere australia, you KNOW that clothespile would have at least four species of arachnid in it at any given time. Still. awesome 'mmock.

It would suck during the winters, both the show and the real life location can have snowy winters and the tropical shack construction wouldn't deal very well.
>>
>>80788862
god that era is hilarious. you NEEDED servants back then because every lady and gentleman needed like 500 items essential to everyday life if they wanted to do any kind of business with anyone. everyone's house looked like a fucking cluttered ghastly mess of boring dumb shit. no wonder he was on coke.

well it doesnt get nearly as cold, but the winters are more humid, so they FEEL colder-for-a-given-temp.
but what it means is you dont get that thing in dry continental winters where you go "oh this is fine, the air doesnt feel cold so i must be fine" then you rest your hand on a normal object for a while and pull it away and your skin's a fucking mess because of the better conductivity chilling you to fuck and back
though what you trade it for is having to make sure you keep dry, because any like, finger and toe moisture will fuck up your capillaries just as badly.

I can absolutely assure you that they have AC on the east coast. Every part of it. It gets as humid as unholy fuck. I have no idea why you would claim that they wouldn't have AC.

My mom used to say (like in the 80s she'd say this) that england always looks older than it is
not because they're behind us, but because they don't feel it necessary to show off having the latest gadgets all the time. if you inherit it from your nan and it still works, you use it.

making a generalization about coastal/beach/island construction with its open-air structure. every place varies of course, but there's a ton of places that think they dont need it and they fucking do. seattle comes to mind.
>>
>>80788968
Does living by the sea mean the salt and sand eat away at one bouse? Seems like maintaining a house their would require more awareness and attentiveness about the weather.
>>
>>80789716
Pretty much every beach on the east coast gets insanely humid summers. A normal human wouldn't be able to physically fall asleep without AC.
>>
>>80789770
no dry coastal summers on the east coast? man, sucks to be them. west coast is best coast.
>>80789740
if you're right on the beach yeah you want your house elevated slightly. and obviously there's not going to be any nice bedrock to adhere the house to anyway

If you're into dog breeding, those swinging eggs are dollar signs.
The whole point of 101 Dalmatians is that the stud is so fertile, he impregnates the bitch with over 100 pups.
Frankly, they ought to be dragging on the ground.

In any case, they demand to be drawn.

Steven's house is
>not insulated
>no central heat/air
>single fireplace for a heat source
>located far enough north to have cold winters

So unless the Temple is putting off some heat into the house. Steven is freezing his ass off during the winter. Which probably explains the poofy comforter on his bed.
>>
>>80790858
Ive heard the opposite, the building codes in paris have a height limit so most of the time the only thing you can see is the building accross from you unless you live across the street from the eiffel tower.

It's possible that temperature doesn't really bother Steven as much as he thinks it does. The handship, underwater temple and moon base most likely didn't have any Oxygen and he was fine. He could sleep naked in a snowstorm if he thought it was a normal human activity.
