What's /co/'s opinion on pic related? Does anyone actually like it unironically?
>>
I Love it

Yeah I love this show unironically. I don't know why you'd like it ironically.

Yes?

Wut
>>
>>80744483
I'm a fan and I always get the feeling other people like it for the memes
>>
>>80744483
Because its, like, about weird southerny people with weird southerny people ways. Its Current Year, anon.
>>
>>80744451
I don't like it.
>>
>>80744451
I like it but it hits too close to home.

DALLAS?
>>
>>80744515
A big part of the show is learning that being stuck in their weird southerny ways isn't always the best action and that sometimes you gotta change how you deal with things. I don't think the current year people would have a problem with it outside it portraying smug urban assholes as smug urban assholes.
>>
>>80744593
I'll get you twig boy!
>>
>>80744504
Not the guy you're replying to, but I love the show and the memes.

I've seen every episode of it several times and it's one of my favorite animated series, but I also get a lot of entertainment out of shit like the YouTube Poops.

Mike Judge is a quality craftsman.
>>
>>80744451
Anime of the Year, of all years.
>>
I remember liking it but I can't remember a specific episode. Been maybe 10 years since I've seen it.
>>
Remember the episode where Hank became a Green Lantern.
>>
>>80744451
KOTH is one of the few shows that just about everyone on /co/ agrees is good.
>>
>>80744451
The better question is, does anyone NOT like it?
>>
...I'm confused, what anime are we referencing right now?
>>
>>80744593
I live in Texas and pretty much everyone who was born here loves the show. Even the most hardcore Tumblr social justice asshole has a lot of Southernisms imbued in them and can relate to the show.
>>
I WAS LISTENIN
>>
>>80744451
Phenomenal show, but I can see where others might not like it if you're not familiar with the setting.
>>
Anybody remember that one episode when Hank had a temper tantrum over not having a special seat reserved for his family at church and wound up getting that smug ass look onbhia face when he got his way at the end? I like how even the most likeable characters can still make you want to give them a smack sometimes.
>>
>>80746163
I remember that episode. Honestly, Hank isn't very likable. He just gets mad all the time (something the show brought up in that anger management episode)

JACK RUBY'S ASS
>>
Took a month with my old roommate and watched every single episode.

It's great. A satirical look into blue collar American life, and sometimes the show gets way too real.

Yes

Dale is the best.
>>
>>80744451
Yes. It manages to have humor, mild drama, and sweet morals all while being tonally consistent, something that feels like a rarity in kids cartoons. Like, looking at stuff like Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, Steven's "humor and drama" moments, they feel like they were written by two different writers. King of the Hill has the same "touch" the whole way through. Wish more shows were tonally consistent. Feels like everyone is trying to have their Disney moment within 11 minutes.
>>
>>80747393
KOTH isn't a kid's cartoon on that level though. It still cussed and had watered down things, kinda like Bob's Burgers at times.

One of my favorite cartoon shows, for sure. I always glossed over it as a kid during its original run, but have grown to appreciate its great down-to-earth humor. Every major character is clearly flawed in some way, but still has endearing qualities that you can either relate to or laugh at.

Someone make a "BWAH!" version of this
>>
I actually got into it because of the surge in YTP popularity and ended up really enjoying it. It's probably the longest running thing that I've seen every episode of.

Same here, if you didn't like it 10 years ago give it another go
>>
>>80744504
i only like the memes because i love the show so much.
>>
>>80744451
Its one of the best cartoons made anon.
Its better than the Simpsons ever was

I think it is as close to an objectively good series as you can get. All the characters are well written and they never derail them. This shits god-like.

Are you talking about the pork guy? He killed himself. Peggy is not at all responsible.

I tend to consider that episode "non-canon" (if that could be a phrase used for KotH), because it's so out of tune with the rest of the series. It's just a separate Halloween special.
