Just having her not burn anything would be shitty, shitty writing on Tom's part. On page 4, we saw that she's pretty emotionally unstable right now. She doesn't really make any progress on that front with Reynard. At the bowling alley, she lights the lane on fire, showing she's still not in control. The point is that between then and today's page, she's undergone nothing that would give her this kind of stability. Character development has to be prompted by things happening, not characters just randomly changing for no discernible reason.
So yeah, I expect Annie to "get it together" in this chapter, but something has to happen first. I fully expect her to get mad and fuck some shit up in the next few pages.

Annie had no real emotional investment in Winsbury other than that he's a boy she knows from her class. At the very most, they're sort of friends, maybe. She didn't have any idea why Kat was trying to get them alone together in the first place. All that's happened from her perspective this chapter is that she failed at bowling and then had some information dumped on her about some people she knows who are apparently in a relationship. Nothing for her to be very upset over, just perhaps mildly confused.
