I really like Bart and Lisa's relationship in the older shorts, where they're written more like actual kids/siblings (and they usually play with Maggie too). I don't think it would've worked too well for a full-length show and changing Lisa's personality was a good move, but they felt really genuine.

I don't even dislike Lisa, but with the amount of cynicism and disappointment she's already carrying with her at 8, it's hard to imagine a future for her that doesn't involve her being really burnt out and disillusioned about the world.

Basically everything. I just pulled it up from my Simpsons artwork folder and it's painful to look at (and no I won't upload it anywhere out of embarrassment). Their proportions are way off, the anatomy is ass, and there's no weight or gravity.
