Judging from Jessica Jones, I don't think there is much actual hope for that. JJ and Cage will probably be our more dramatic shows, while Iron Fist and DD will be the action shows.

This is really is a pretty stupid and unfair summation.
They offered him Luke Cage and he looked up the character and said he wasn't interested in playing a corny outdated self aware tongue-in-cheek kind of throwback character (aka Black Dynamite part 2) and the producers assured him Luke hasn't been that way since the 80's and has become a real fully developed character since so he gladly accepted the role. He's just an actor that wants to play a real part, he doesn't want to put on a corny afro and yell "SWEET CHRISTMAS LOL" and wink at the camera.
