I really don't think Marvel understands Spider-Man.
The idea is that the suit brings out the man in Peter. The costume is just a mask for him to find himself, heroics are almost a side thing, and if anything they mostly just hurt his personal life. He's cocky, arrogant, maybe too much for his own good, but he's finding his way and learning to be a man.
