Why couldn't Spectaluar be as respected as B:TAS when it was airing?

>if only there were half a dozen other threads I could have posted this in

It was respected by Kids WB when it was airing. Then the Marvel/Disney dealings happened.

If it had been left undisturbed, we could've gotten at least a couple more seasons.

Because of the dogshit art-style.
>>
>steals the only thing Cap can use to protect himself

unfair

I'm sorry anon. I didn't know you preferred the generic, cookie-cutter art style USM and its ilk is shoving on our faces.
>>

Aaaah~ Aaah~

Seconded.

eh i think most people prefer USM's art. doesnt make it a good show.
i liked spectacular's fine too, but it didnt really suit it. it was a bit too cartoony. mainly the ludicrously over the top extreme proportions, especially characters like venom, took away your ability to take it seriously
sure BTAS was every bit as stylized but it was in a way that felt more conducive to ACTION. it was inspired by fleischer after all. looked like an old comic. Spectacular's art looks like.. well, that guy on deviantart that draws really neat kim possible fanart.
one aspect i did like was the overuse of seam-lines and muscle-lines on bodies and garments. kinda reminds me of that BTAS episode Tyger Tyger, where the mutants inexplicably had them too. made them look like fake costumes, but something about it i just like. kinda makes me think i'm looking at action figures, which is comforting.
