What's your favorite Silver Age Marvel comic?
I'm currently reading Amazing Spider-Man to completion but I'm looking for something else that has a lasting appeal and a lengthy run of quality. I started reading old Iron Man, but frankly it's a bit of a snooze.
I was considering Fantastic Four or Avengers, but encourage suggestions for other stuff as well.

Lee/Kirby FF is dope

Yeah, Iron Man is a tough go; ASM, Avengers, FF, are much better. Daredevil's kinda dull, X-Men is hit-or-miss (not for me, though, I'm a big X-Fag).
Dr. Strange is one of my faves from the Silver Age; can't really go wrong with him.
Lee and Kirby's Fantastic Four is must read and the highlight of Marvel's silver age. Read it.

Alright, well that's three for three in favor of FF. And I have a folder downloaded labelled "Who is Doctor Strange?" that contains the landmark moments of the character.
Is there a "golden age" for Iron Man? A team that wrote the definitive run of the character?
Fantastic Four is perfect during the Lee and Kirby years but is weak for a long time after. Avengers is great to read to completion. You get the Cap's Kooky Quartet era, constant Pym/Vision/Ultron drama, Kang drama, mutant drama, space opera, supernatural stories, political commentary. Basically a clusterfuck of everything Marvel, as it should be.

This is the kind of thing I'm wondering about. How well do these titles do after the original runs?
>>80627072
Nope, Iron Man comics are always mediocre-to-bad and have been since the 60s
Silver Age sucks

Thanks for the bump

what i've read of superior was ok...
Silver age Avengers is insanely dear to me.
Didn't marvel editors put newbies on iron man because it was always mediocre and safe?

Sauce ?

Why so?
Let it be known that I have selected Avengers because I found it first.
Still, let's continue this Silver Age thread.

Layton/Michelinie Iron Man is pretty good; it's the quintessential Iron Man afaic.
Avengers and X-Men didn't get good until Roy Thomas
Kirby's Thor and Cap were both great

I heard even Roy's X-Men were bad.
I liked Legion of Superheroes

Byrne FF, Busiek Avengers.
