The Road to El Dorado.

90% of the people seen in the movie died of smallpox.

Maybe BPRD.

OP, your Evangelion image reminded me that on paper their apocalypse concept seems amazing, but after watching it I felt really fucking weirded out.

Correct. Too bad it's taking so long to finish.

This.

Just like a real apocalypse would.
>>
>>80612681
What happened there?

...The Apocalypse. Hell on Earth. What do you think we're talking about?

>>80613510
The end of humanity. Really the end, no way out. It's rather bleak.

I think OP means the extinction level event actually taking place, not just the aftermath.

Percevan - The seventh seal.
Christian apocalypse with the plagues, the horsemen (female ones, because it's based on french depictions) and all that stuff, pretty cool.

>the horsemen (female ones, because it's based on french depictions)
Are they always depicted as female in France?

I'm partial to When the Wind Blows myself.

That one russian short with the robot still functioning in the house even after his owners had been turned to ash

I've only ever seen this fully once. I just can't take watching it again.
It's so fucking heartbreaking, soul-crushingly so, and that's not something I want to willingly re-experience.
>>
>>80615079
it's bad because you're not seeing strong powerful heroes being worn down to nothing. You're watching two elderly people waste away from radiation
>>
>>80614240
I think it's still worthy to be mentioned.

Although death is rarely directly depicted, Endtown is masterful at implying and making you feel the scale of a holocaust.
And since what happened is death in gigantic proportions, sooner or later we will be shown directly the world falling apart.
It's almost effortless when it hits you with waves of knowledge that hundreds of people died in once place.
Frankly I've never seen so much death being implied and mentioned directly.
They feel like real people, who really died, and were really many, every time.
When they tackle on the great catastrophe that happened, I'm sure it will be done perfectly in terms of feel/showing the scope.

Not always, but since there is no gender-neutral pronoun in french, and the 4 concepts are female (la guerre, la mort, la maladie, la conquete/la folie/la famine), it's quite common.
Put as a rule, french artists love female personification. Even censorship is female (old granny with giant scissors)
