Well you know internet hate, it is basically magnifies any feeling of "it was meh" or "I don't like this" to pure concentrated hate. Outside of the internet mentality most people who disliked the season already forgave what they hated about it instead of going so far off the deep end that if a character turns their head the wrong way it is counted as another sin the show committed.
