It's his dependence on Game Grumps and how they put next to no effort into it anymore. Whether you look at the editing or commentary, it's not entertaining 90% of the time, and is mostly just coasting off of it's own popularity. Even it's creepily die hard fanboys and fangirls are starting to comment that they're getting tired of such long, drawn out series of the same games. They're too lazy to even change the game at this point and they film everything in bulk. Then, with their huge budget they acquired, they don't try to grow the show in any positive way; from what it sounds like they need to re-model their capture room and invest in some better equipment.
For the past 2 years, that's the way it's been and just getting worse; this can't go on forever though, and just by comments Arin is starting to make online and in videos that have been recorded about a month ago that are only being released, it sounds like he's realizing that, but doesn't honestly know what to do about it because he doesn't like to face challenges. It's why he cancelled the Awesome Series after Pokeawesome 2 fell flat, as well as giving up on Sequalitis because of his shitty Zelda episode. If he got a big voice acting gig and that got panned, I'm sure he'd give up on that too. His ego is too big and too easily bruised. And that's an issue.

I honestly don't know, and it's different depending on the Youtuber. I've seen some that stay true and roll with the punches, while others will go as far as to delete their entire channels because they're that distraught and petty. Maybe it's not so much that Youtube makes them Weenies, but Youtube attracts Weenies as a platform for their content?If I wasn't so good at procrastinating and able to keep a decent work flow, I would totally make a channel with effort put into it.

Well that's something entirely different; and while I'm personally not fond of content being taken off the web, it's your content and up to you what to do with it. If you didn't think it was up to a standard you are capable of and wanted to clean your slate, that's acceptable, assuming you're not trying to swipe something under the rug. Deleting your work because people claimed it was bad and that made you upset is bad form. People still make fun of the Phil Fish for canceling Fez 2 on account of fan interaction. People make fun of John K. for being petty like this as well. Be able to take criticism and grow as a person. Don't just try to hide your shame and act like it never existed, or even worse, acknowledge it's existence and make a big deal that you abandoned it.
