I think it was an experiment. same with afro samurai. they wanted to see if comedy would be enhanced by occasional bits of high quality action animation. They had several plots centered around athletics and martial arts, which played to that strength. But in general what people remember is AWWW YEEAAAH nigga you gay WHAT'S GOOD NYUKUH dont trust dem new niggas ova dere etc. that didnt need special art to accomplish
me, i liked it for the cute girls and for the moments where it utterly accurately decried parts of society ('nigga technology' comes to mind. i still say that every time some faggot struggles using a phone to do a computer's job. my mom fucking watches tv using a wifi-enabled DVR that's locked in to using nothing but pay services or youtube, and complains when it constantly loses signal or struggles due to youtube-throttling), especially when it was actually trying to support them (every time they illustrated a political thing they ended up showing why the right is right)
