I collect action figures. Not just comic figures, some anime and junk, too. But for comic figures specifically, I've spent probably $150 on them, give or take. Mostly just Marvel Legends so far.
>>
>>80461825
Keith Giffen and Alan Grant stuff.

I overwhelmingly had 99% of everything involving Lobo and Etrigan along with a bunch of other shit between em that I lost in a house fire few years back.

Managed to save my L.E.G.I.O.N./R.E.B.E.L.S. collection though

>What /co/mics & collectibles do you collect?
DC and indy trades. Chibi looking toys. DC movie and cartoon related Blu-Rays and art books.

>How much money have you spent?
I budget $30 a month for it.

>Why do you do it?
Because I've grown up enjoying the medium and the characters. I've also recently trimmed my collection to keep only the quality stuff. I did this because I want my baby daughter to have nothing but the good material and to make sure she has plenty of inspirational female characters to look at and aspire to so she grows up to be a great, strong woman.
>>
Action figures of just the JLI, trades, and I used to collect floppies.
>>
>>80462662

Your daughter will probably not care to be honest familia.
>>
>>80463285
Her Supergirl costume that she insists on wearing to Comic Con this year says otherwise, friend. :^)
>>
I exclusively collect Jonah Hex floppies. Other than that, I have the average shelf of graphic novels and hardcover collections.
>>
Only floppies from my LCS or at flea markets/cons. 35 bucks per month for my pull, most I've spent is 60 bucks at a con for .50 floppies. I mostly buy for the writing or art work.
>>
I have thousands of dollars of stuff. Probably only obout 300 floppies, though. 100 or so Kirby comics, mostly Kamandi, CA, and Thor. 120 Savage Dragon, and maybe 100 more assorted 90's shit- including New Mutants 98.
I have a full book shelf of trades and omnis, including Ducks, indies, and old news paper strips. My wife probably bought about half of that for me as gifts. Most recent purchase UXM omni 3.
I dig comics.
>>
I've kind of built my entire life around record collecting, and because I put so much energy into that I don't let myself "collect" a whole lot else.

Lately I've been caving in with comics, though. I'm half assedly trying to get the 75 or so Marvel Graphic Novels, and the dozen or so DC ones. Specifically the oversized ones. I have 25 or so?

They're cheap enough and don't translate well digitally, so it makes sense.

I'm also half toying with the idea of buying every Punisher comic. I have just about everything up till '95 or so from when I was a kid, so it would really just be a matter of fleshing out those runs and plunking down on a bunch of trades and omnis for the post 2k stuff... Do not ask me where that drive comes from. What's a midgrade Spider-Man 129 do these days?
>>
>>80462092
>$500 in comics your kids can read

You schmoz, you've got the GOAT comic collection.
>>
I collect variants and floppies for certain series/characters/artists etc. Big into collecting floppies for sure though
>>
>>80461825
I buy trades and statues. I dropped Marvel a long time ago so I mostly stick to DC and other publishers.

>What /co/mics & collectibles do you collect?
I only collect comics.
>How much money have you spent?
About $200
>Why do you do it?
Because I want to read them, silly OP.
>>
>>80461825
Trades, floppies, HC/omnibi, statues, figures.
>>
>>80462659
Did she end up cosplaying Vampirella or what?
>>
20 grand easy, on comics alone.

Partly habit I guess.
>>
Everything 2000AD-related I can get my hands on from this corner of the globe. I also try to buy TPBs of all the comic scans I read that I liked, buying huge beautiful hardcovers of books I only know by fame (Valentina, Coraline - SueƱos, etc.) and the occasional national comic.

Far as merch goes, a shitton of GI Joes, a few DC and Marvel figures, a handful of Transformers, and just a few weeks back I splurged $160 on this Judge Dredd figure and bike.
>>
>>80461825
>How much money have you spent?
Thousands of dollars. I don't even want to try working it out because it would just depress me.
>>
Probably close to 1000 on beast wars toys.
>>
>>80462659
what is wrong with me

i can't watch this for more than 3 seconds

fucking hell, why is she so beautiful

>I'm half assedly trying to get the 75 or so Marvel Graphic Novels, and the dozen or so DC ones
>They're cheap enough and don't translate well digitally, so it makes sense

But they're cheaper to buy as individual trades.
>>
>>80462092

I mean, how many donald duck comics do you have? Plus, that's barely any amount of money for a long term collection. My current speakers cost more than 500 dollars, it's not really an extreme amount of money.
>>
>>80463452

You sound like a faggot. I only buy comics for panel layout.
>>
>>80464427
Not everyone that reads comics is a repulsive hambeast like you, man. :^)
>>
I quit buying floppies to save money but i might start again as long as i limit my pull list. I buy mostly trades now and i use to collect toys until my shelf got filled up. Its depressing cause i make minimum wage and dont even work full time so pretty everything i ever earned i spent on my hobby.
>>
>>80461825
comics. floppies mostly. a couple shelves of trades.

Periodically since for 10 years, regularly for 5 years, habitually for 2, less than $5k, more than 2 though.

I do it because I remember digging through a wicker basket full of comics at my horrible step grandma's cabin in northern wisconsin. I was beyond curious and disappointed about what happened in all the missing issues, and when i found 2 or 3 comics in the basket from the same series and the same arc, it was an incredible victory. I used to look back on the holes i had in my collections from high school and feel the same anxious longing for completion. I still feel like in some titles I'm not going to be happy until I fill in the pieces I'm missing from #1 to my earliest issue. I went to half price books last year and found #1-12 of The Filth in great condition for something like $20.I know it's not a particularly rare or valuable title, but it's something I love that came out "before my time" of collecting, and I felt the same satisfaction finding those as I did as a child looking through that wicker basket. I don't plan on breeding but I do plan on forgetting about a ton of the shit I've collected and read over the past ten years, I collect single issues to try to set my future self up for the same excitement I felt as a kid uncovering issues 294/295/296 without missing pages.

All Carl Banks I'm guessing.
You did the right thing anon.
>>
>>80472830
Different anon, but I have all the current Bark's reprints, I bought the first couple of volumes of Rosa, but I wasn't impressed.
>>
I collect books and zines. The only two real "collections" I have from particular artists are Daniel Clowes, Chris Ware, and Simon Hanselmann and that's mostly just because I buy a lot of their stuff because I like it.
>>
>>80471131

Never talk down to a hambeast. HamChildren are the cute.

That just sounds stressful. wtf.

I've probably have spend in the tens of thousands. I buy mostly older comics and original art. The most I've spend on a single piece being 2k. I do it because I just really love the hobby, the people I've meet and the hunt for something that's hard to find.
>>
>>80463683
Sorry to tell you friend but ASM 129 has gained some money because of him soon to be on Netflix. It's not that bad though depending on how nice an appearing copy you want. I can't remember the going rate but you can check out the past sold listings on eBay for an idea.
