HOW CONVENIENT
>>

They're not even being subtle about it anymore.
>>
>>80391198
They never were, you just started reading comics.
>>
>>80391173
I hope Killmonger comes back
>>
On tumblr there are posts were people theorize what it be like if Wakanda excisted
>>
>>80391198

They were never subtle. Half the time the solicitations or ads for stuff like this have legitimately said "JUST IN TIME FOR _______ MOVIE!" or "SEEN THE MOVIE AND WANT MORE?"

That said, who fucking cares? I'd say something like "as long as the book is good, it doesn't matter" but I know there would just be some

>capeshit
>good

response with a reaction image. But even putting that aside, what impact does a company putting a book out that capitalizes on the recent release of a movie have on the book itself? It very, very likely doesn't. The only instance I can think of where a book was ACTUALLY hashed together in time for a movie, and you could see in the pages/writing, was Avengers Assemble or whatever that terrible book was called back when the first Avengers movie came out. The one by Bendis and Bagley.
>>
>>80391312
>what impact does a company putting a book out that capitalizes on the recent release of a movie have on the book itself? It very, very likely doesn't.

What is Guardians of the Galaxy
>>
>>80391312
It's like niggas don't remember Daredevil carving a bullseye into Bullseye's forehead with a rock so he looks more like Colin Farrel.
>>
>>80391356

Oh, you mean the book that launched at the end of 2012 for a movie that came out in mid 2014?
>>
And it'll be canceled by issue 12 after the Civil War hype dies down.
>>
>>80391198

They're having a CIVIL WAR 2 event for pity's sake. TOTALLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT MOVIE COMING OUT THOUGH.
>>
>>80391367

Again though, who cares? That scene, and run as a whole, was excellent. So they did something that was ultimately inconsequential to a B-list (at BEST) character, in a really good run of a book.

Stop the presses, fuck you Marvel.

Normally I'd disagree with you, but the fact that no one is buying Ultimates, a well written comic filled with darkies, has completely shot my faith people.

Wasn't Ultimates confirmed for cancellation already? Like, issue six?

And marvel has said that they will continue to use the black panther writer no only for this comic.

I wonder what else will he be writing

No. You're thinking... well, I'm not sure what you're thinking of. Either Black Knight, Howling Commandos, or Angela: Queen of Hel, as those are the only books currently slated to be cancelled. Maybe Herc.

A solo book with a more popular character than everyone in that team book combined (prior to the movie). Hell, a solo book with a more popular character than Carol Danvers and we all saw how long her shit book has lasted.

I would say Vision is as popular as BP, but if his book get canned after issue 12, the only hope for BP is having good sales but if it his 30k in the second issue that is basically a death sentence
>>
>>80391564

You know at this point you guys accusing everyone who doesn't share your shit pessimistic POV of being marketers has become more obnoxious and futile than actual marketers would be, right?

It's almost the most effective type of trolling that I've seen on here in a long time though, because I genuinely cannot tell if people like you are really retarded and incapable of having discussion, or if you're just baiting.

Is this company incapable of shame?
>>
>>80391569
Do you really expect them to know he's even had a book before
>>
>>80391705
BP has had multiple relatively long running ongoings and his own animated series (although it's mostly just a motion comic). Vision has had a couple sporadic minis.

The two really don't compare.
>>
>>80391753
They legit think they're being clever.
>>
>>80391753
>>
>>80391173
Kinda like how Steve rodgers got his youth again for Civil War, or like how Parker was spider-man again for ASM 2.

And I'm pretty sure Odinson is going to be worthy again just in time for thor 3.
>>
>>80391716
he's not a crime fighter, he's a super-sovereign, like King Arthur
>>
>>80391590
In Marvel if a new writer doesn't like something they just ignore it-- or if they're John Byrne types of autistic, they'll go out of their way to change it, burn it, and stomp on the ashes.
Usually they just ignore it until everyone forgets though, the people here that mention it have never read Hudlin's run to begin with and are just memefaggots.
>>
>>80391561
Thats because bendis is writing it.
>>
>>80391716
>relating to a super genius peak-human king of Afrofuturism
>>
>>80391844
I actually did read it. I find Hudlin's treatment of Klaw, his powers, his motivations and his origins to be far worse than the cancer thing
>>
>>80391464
Do you think T'Challa deals with his privilege guilt by watching skinny white men gangbang big fat negresses?
>>
>>80391753
They said the same thing for Civil War II
They basically said they rushed to get it out in time for the movie

Not that I blame them of course, it's just the smart thing to do. You'd think DC would be better at it too by now but apparently they hate money.
>>
>>80391705

The difference being we know Vision is a stealth mini intended to snatch Tom King away from DC.
>>
HBCUs across the country are requiring Ta Nehesi Coates readings/coursework for all freshman

Wouldnt be surprised if I see shilling for this where Im at
>>
>>80391910
Marvel is, sadly, not progressive enough to do that.
>>
I'm shocked they didn't redesign his costume to more closely resemble the MCU one like they usually do.
>>

>>
>>80391814

>>

>>
>>80392234
Dignity doesnt pay the bill but i apreciate it
>>
>>80392261
>whoring out their movies
But Marvel doesn't make the movies anymore. Marvel Studios was ripped out of Marvel Entertainment, so Marvel no longer has any say or control over them. They're purely Disney now.

Although Civil War was made while Marvel Studios was still part of Marvel Entertainment, so there's that.

Either way, that's not what shilling means. It's just advertising.
>>
>>80391424
>inconsequential
Eh I dunno, it made Bullseye stop wearing his costume which was something I always liked about him. He wore the costume because he wanted to look really ridiculous when he was murdering people and he wanted to get on DD's level, it was an important character trait
>>
>>80392762
>shilling
>not advertising

please be trolling
>>
>>80391173
Please tell me this isn't real.
>>
>>80391561
>Stars of a team film's book that they intentionally adapted to be very similar to the film

shilling is paying people to pretend to not be advertising when they are in fact advertising, blatant advertising is not shilling.

Exactly. So bizarre.
>>
>>80393739
Yeah, DC would never give people in the movies or tv books or comic appearances. That's why they definitely aren't going to reveal what will probably be a Lois ongoing and a Lex ongoing right around the time BvS comes out.
>>
>>80393951
It's because they're black.
>>
>>80391783
>>80391569

BPs runs were always sporadic though...20ish issue run in the 70s (best run, btw), 4 ish mini in the 80s, ~60 issues in the Marvel Knights era... That's less than a hundred issues of solo comics over 50 years!

I back T'challa big time, but in this era of reboots where even flagship titles rarely make it to 50, I'm not expecting a long run out of this one.

Maybe a good story, though? One can dream.
>>
>>80394037
Exactly. That's what I'm saying.
>>
>>80394176
I just hope they don't fuck it up by tying it too much into Civil War 2.
That shit always ruins good runs.
>>
>>80391173
This isn't even real
>>
>>80393951
People have been wanting a Shazam on-going since long before the movie was announced.
>>
>>80391173

This isn't new. Comics have always done this. I remember reading an issue of Blade's mid-2000s series that had "I DUG THIS BOOK - STICKY FINGAZ, TV'S BLADE" plastered on the front cover. It's called brand synergy. They're a business. Get it dealt with
>>
>>80394176

Didn't T'challa stop being BP in the Marvel Knights run for a while or something? I feel like the latter portions of that run focused on someone else, though I could be remembering wrong.
>>
>>80391816

Starbrand and Nightmask isn't doomed to end early anymore?
>>
>>80395264
Yes but now people use the movie as one reason for him to have a book
>>
>>80396390
Issue 2 was like 11k, of course it's going to end early.

Starbrand & Nightmask #6
GREG WEISMAN (w) • DOMINIKE STANTON (a)
Cover by YASMINE PUTRI
• Time for Starbrand’s final evaluation: Does he survive or place out of existence, once and for all? It’s Starbrand vs. Libra. Also Nightmask vs. Cipher! And for good measure, Starbrand vs. Starbrand!
• All this, plus a major step forward in Kevin’s relationship with Imani Greene!
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$3.99

And this sounds pretty final to me, and DC and marvel apparently don't put "final issue" on final issues anymore.
>>
>>80391962
>You'd think DC would be better at it too by now but apparently they hate money.

DC's too busy flailing around trying to catch up to the Cinematic Universe thing Marvel has going on.
>>
>>80397489
Oh sure, but they literally went months without a Supergirl ongoing and the best they could scrape up in the meantime was a digital mini about the show that isn't even getting floppies.
>>
>>80397582

These shows don't actually boost sales in the floppies, anon.
>>
>>80391198

Anymore? They literally found an excuse to put Spidey back in the black costume when SM3 was out.
