Looking back, the only shows that I can remember not having a huge drop in animation quality from the intro to the actual show were Bionic Six and The Mighty Orbots. I mean, yeah, the intros were still so, so much better, but the in-show animation wasn't aggressively bad (unlike, say, the Transformers or Defenders of the Earth).
I still enjoyed the heck out of them as a kid, though.

Man, those old 1980s intro theme songs really got me pumped to watch when I was a kid. There's probably a a theory about certain chord progression/tempo combinations lending themselves to these sorts of things, because the Silverhawks, Thundercats, Pole Position, Visionaries,Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, The Mighty Orbots, Spiral Zone, etc. themes seem to have something that ties them together musically, but I can't put my finger on it (beyond the fact that a lot of the themes were composed by Shuki Levy, of course).
