Thus my point of "quality of the fights going up -again-".
Without Monty or his protege, the choreography has noticeably declined, even if the overall animation has improved. It's also become more "Realistic". Slower, even-paced, and with more detail shown. It's definitely lost the "Cuhrazy" that Monty would inject into things.
The last few fights of V3 did show a bit more creativity, so perhaps there is hope yet. We shall see.

The finale was the best of RWBY so far, and quite a bit of it is due to that it's a turn to a good direction.
It was nice because all the effort put into Pyrrha's development bore fruit, but also a shame that the writing had to be so focused to make it work.
The story is getting better and has potential, it's just that the writing needs to be worked on.

The alternative to this is that Ruby destroyed the ship and shut down ALL the robots. Again she's just playing on a different level. I pretty much counted the robots as bigger versions of ground minions, killing minions =/= defeating a substantial threat.
On the other hand I suppose that particular issue is a matter of opinion, in the case you're right then it still leaves the fact that the veteran hunters did near nothing and Ruby's accomplishments vastly outmatch anyone elses.
